Great read

Any additional comments?

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Not predictable. Strong characters and ensemble cast. While I am not necessarily a western reader, I loved this story and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good book. The narration was superb.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you like listening to stories on the radio, you will like this.

Which character – as performed by Kevin R. Free – was your favorite?

I love the main characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I love Beverly Jenkins books. I have read all her books. I love the characters and the history story line.

Very Good, but NOT The Revolutionary War Era

What made the experience of listening to Night Hawk the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the story overall and liked the heroine very much - it gave very good information about the West and details about the plight of Natives and Blacks during the time period after Reconstruction (better than the South).

What was one of the most memorable moments of Night Hawk?

The heroine's escape from the Preacher! :)

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The performance could have been better - I didn't care for Ian's voice and some of the minor characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Life Beyond the Pain.

Any additional comments?

I think I would have enjoyed it more with a different narrator.

Night Hawk ( gotta live it)

Loved the audio version of this book. I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator; he did an excellent job.

AA++ for the story and performance

Beverly Jenkins is a master at historical romance and Night Hawk doesn't disappoint. The story and each character is fully developed and the twists and turns of the plot will have you laughing and gasping!

Excellent

Would you consider the audio edition of Night Hawk to be better than the print version?

This is first I have heard of this book, however I enjoy the authors work so much.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Preacher of course!

What does Kevin R. Free bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was the worst narrator I have ever heard. The book would have been much better with different narrator, he made the women all sound the same.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

indifference

Great story, disappointing audio performance..

The storyline started out good enough and I was instantly drawn in, but I could not quite get past the whining lead female's voice and disposition. she was truly unlikable and the voice contributed greatly to this I believe. the storyteller did a passable job on the other voices although the overall storytelling made the story hard to enjoy as a whole. I believe this story needed a more "urban" or ethnic voice palette. I would recommend this book and the author but not the audio version unfortunately.

Night Hawk’s Voice

This is a great story; however, the narrator’s voice for Maggie was awful! Honestly, all the character’s voices were bad save Ian Vance and Jade. The deep whisper of Ian Vance is what held my interest in the rest of the story. If Ian didn’t sound so damn fine, I don’t think I could have gotten through this audio book. Maggie’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard. Overall, I enjoyed the story but I won’t get another romance audio narrated by Mr. Free.

An easy way to ruin perfection!

Beverly Jenkins is my 2nd favorite author and I have read lol of the historical things she’s written. This was my first audiobook and while I love the story just as much as when I read the book, the narrators voice was less than pleasing. The accents were atrocious and the character voices just through me for a loop. I’m going to try a different book to see if it’s better or if I just need to stick with the paperback books!
