An Intense, Edge Of Your Seat, Thrill Ride Romance

I thoroughly enjoyed this intense, edge of your seat, thrill ride of a romantic suspense read. Deck and Mila were such great characters. Very easy to like and to root for. You could easily feel the attraction and chemistry simmering and sparking between them with every interaction. The well written story grabs and keep you fully engaged with its gripping tale of murder, mystery, drama, danger, action, powerful emotion, passion and nail biting tension. A truly terrific read and an awesome way to kick-off this exciting new series.

Decker and Mila - Great Together

Decker Ashford is the manager at the ranch owned by Quint Alexander from some earlier books. But Deck is not only the manager there….. Deck is Burns Butler’s protégé and a part owner. When heading home from a trip and stumbles across a dying young woman, he ends up meeting her sister and trying to help her figure out what happened. Mila is not your normal Heather Slade kick ass ‘heroine’. Mila comes back to Texas from Boston to ID her sister and then to make arrangements. Mila had just lost her job in Boston, has a creepy landlord that she considers a friend, and had recently lost her grandfather there in Texas – she is a bit over-whelmed at this point. Thank God for Deck and his protective side buoying her up. This book is jam packed with intrigue, suspense and adventure. A definite roller coaster ride with twists and turns that you will not see coming! These two main characters share an explosive chemistry plus a little more! This is truly storytelling at its best!
Listening to Stephanie Nemeth-Parker and Craig Hart narrate this adventure was wonderful. I have previously read the book, but listening to it brought it to life for me. The two voices of the narrators couldn’t be more different, yet worked so well together! Loved it!

Loved this Book

Decked by Heather Slade was well written and truly a great story. This is a book with suspense, mystery and definitely danger and action with some great chemistry. I absolutely loved Stephanie Parker and Craig Hart they did an outstanding job of narrating this story, they made it easy to picture in my head what these great characters looked like and what was happening through out the whole story. In my personal opinion this was one heck of a great start to a new series and can't wait for more,

WOW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The narration was utter perfection, it really brought the book to life in a thrilling and passionate way.
I felt the chemistry, the sizzle and it made this book even better (which I thought was quite the feat given how much I loved reading it originally)!

There is the perfect amount of angst and romance to keep you hooked.

I loved how their relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways you never expected.

I would suggest picking up a copy asap, you will not be disappointed.

Great Start to a New Series

I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the story, if you're reading the reviews you know what it's about. I'll tell you what I look for in a review: what I liked (or didn't) about a book. This is a great read. The story is engaging, the dialog is interesting, the characters are well developed and likeable, the story moves at a good pace (no lagging or rushing), there's enough steam to fog your windows, and enough intrigue to keep you listening. This is my first experience with these narrators, they were perfect for this book. I will look for more by them. This is not my first book by Heather Slade, she's fast becoming a favorite.

Temptation is inevitable.

Emotions run deep. Danger is rampant. Temptation is inevitable. Decked is a mystery waiting to be solved. Slade grabs your attention and holds tight from start to finish. Hart and Parker jump right into danger with heartbreaking accuracy and make Mila and Decker their own.

Decker and Mila

Loved this, the first of the Invincible series! It grabs me from the beginning, making me stop and wonder if I had the correct genre here. All good, it is indeed, a romance, though with a shitton of mystery, intrigue, twists, turns, and forks in the road. Hit my emotional meter in all directions as well. The bits of humor are subtle but so well placed.
It also carries a wonderful journey of falling in love, the build up of heat with it, and some very poignant moments--simply put, it will submerge you into the convoluted world of Mila's, the very one, she thought, she had escaped from years ago.
Where Decker, and now, new team all being hot, alpha, and intelligent males, ya know? Invincible, need to find a killer or three. And keep Mila alive and well. All this as Decker falls in deeper with her emotionally, knowing this must be love, and hoping she feels the same. There's sweet surprises here also.
The action throughout is nail-biting and quite realistic, taking place by Austin, TX, on and near the King-Alexander Ranch. With both, well-known characters and new, this is still a stand alone.
The HEA was a big ol' bless their hearts sigh for me!
The diversity, the depth, and attentiveness to every detail is why I enjoy Ms Slade's journeys so well.
I didn't care for the male narrator's version of the Texas Twang. Disappointing! Maybe Mr Hart was hopefully, only having a bad day. I give him two stars for bad accents. I think, a more authentic accent is so important because it's a huge part of the charm that goes with all things Texan.
I had never been a big fan of female narrators, but Ms Nemeth-Parker has made a believer outta me. Very good, easy listening and smooth! Kudos to her bc she kept my narration rating at four!!

Decker and Mila's story

Heather Slade has another winner on her hands. Again, an excellent story that is well developed with realistic and likable characters. You get to know these people so well. Their thoughts and dreams and their baggage and hang-ups. The story is very well plotted and takes you logically through the storyline without jumping around and messing you up. Since the story is so involved this is VERY good! There are twists and turns, and there is always one more surprise just around the corner. I enjoyed reading the book and other than a few ouches on the Texas twang, listening was just as fun. I know this because even though I did read the book, I still stayed up half the night to finish the audio.

Loved the story. Was fun to touch base with the others in the series -- but this IS a standalone. This is the first book in the Invincibles and the entire series is a worthwhile read (and investment). I'm always surprised when I listen to an audio of the book I've already read and still pick up huge things I've missed. Narrators did an excellent job.

Excellent Murder/Mystery Romance!!

I must state I am a huge fan of this series, and read the book when it was released. I also enjoy listening to books on my commute. I find that revisiting favorites with the addition of the narration brings back many "oh, yea loved that part", and "I don't think I caught that first time" moments.

The dual narrators really bring to life the main characters. The Invincible team have become my favorites, and I totally enjoyed the intrigue, and sizzle that was found here.

Decked... my new book bf

Loved Decker and Milas story. I may be wrecked for real life love now. I love that Deck is a Texas cowboy who Z rescued from foster care and taught to be an awesome man. Now as a man, Deck finds the One! yes! The female vocal talent hit it spot on though.
