Best One

Finally I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself. Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me.

Great introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

This book is written in a way that is easy to digest, it guides you to understand the causes of the behaviors that govern your life, which makes changing those behaviors easier. These techniques can be used in your professional as well as your personal life. Definitely will re-read as this has improved my life even applying small changes, but has increased the awareness on my own behaviors and how to work towards bettering myself.
I would definitely recommend this book.

Useful ways of managing mental health.

I've had some issues with my mental health in the past and have seen many experts on the matter. Every one of them pretty much suggests doing some stuff that is vague, but similar. I don't know why they always suggest the same things, if they know I've spoken to others that have suggested it, yet still come to them.

This book also includes those suggestions of ways to manage your mental health, but it's less vague in how to use them. It also has a lot of suggestions that I'd never heard of. I won't go into what they are because it would deprive the authors and narrator of the opportunity to properpy explain things to you.

The fact that this is an audiobook is likely another part of what makes it so much better than seeing any doctors. You can listen whilst you're on the bus, whilst you're cooking, or even on the toilet, which means you aren't as anxious, so everything sticks in your mind better. You can also just rewind and listen again, should you mishear something, which I'd love to be able to do sometimes with medical professionals.

This will definitely be one that I'll be recommending to other people that have to deal with similar issues to me.

an eye opener....

Having family members that suffer from depression I am only too well aware of how debilitating this disease can be. Having listened to this book I will definitely be recommending it to them. Understanding how the mind works and learning how CBT can help, along side medication, will I'm sure be of benefit to anybody in the same situation. Anything that brings mental health out in to the open has to be a good thing.

An Excellent Overview of CBT.

I have clinical depression and, after many failed therapies, found CBT to be the most helpful. Over ten years later I still use, in my everyday life, the techniques learnt and my depression is greatly controlled. This audiobook is a wonderful overview which details many aspects of CBT, the research behind it, pros and very few cons plus how to apply it to your busy life. It isn't filled with difficult buzz words or non sensical pseudo science but clear, concise, relevant and useful information. In my opinion a well narated must have book.

Impressively interesting.

I was looking for a better understanding of CBT. I could not have asked for more! Everything was explained so clearly and thoroughly and the examples were a great way of seeing how the techniques are put into practice.
I really wish there were more audible books like this! Driving will not be the same without it!
