all introduction. no directives no guidance

The book is one very long introduction to the reasons that EQ and interpersonal skills are important. It keeps promising that your life will improve with the skill set but it never gives any practical or step-by-step directives or exercises in creating the skill set

I was lacking a few anecdotes in regards to the human mind and some things I wish they would have put in there, but aside from that, I was really satisfied. The narrator did an excellent job, and so did the author.

A lot of fun points. Such as, people continually stuff their heads with worthless data (news addiction), and the myth of the importance of the rational mind. Definitely some new ways of looking at the world. Learning about submodalities was also very useful, and acquainting emotions I am very sure of with visualizations.

A 9-hour commercial

This book is written like a big commercial: "When you learn emotional intelligence you will ..." It never gets into how to actually improve your skills in this area. It drove me crazy to listen to it. The author may understand emotional intelligence, but the book does a terrible job teaching it.

Great read, lots of value.

Great read and is on my list to read again. It has a lot of the same information that I have accumulated from other sources and in life, however, it connected several of the dots and provided some valuable exercises. This is a good reference to have around when you find yourself less than excited about life and the people you share it with.

This is a great book that I enjoyed to read.

This book is rousing and instructive. It presents data that is incredibly significant to the present work environment. Extraordinary book about how to be all the more sincerely insightful and how genuine progress is more predicated on being sincerely savvy than simply being shrewd. How enthusiastic insight prompts increasingly self-awareness and genuine enduring accomplishments throughout everyday life.

Ok but nothing special

It is ok, but the way it is written does not translate into a hugely attractive piece when being narrated. Maybe for an actual read this one would be better. I still kept it going till the end as some are valid points.

Excellent. 7 books with only mild overlap

This was much better than expected. There are 7 books which only have a little bit of overlap. The best was about retraining your thoughts to see the positive in every scenario, even if it was actually mostly bad. I'll be using those tips everyday! OK to listen at 2x speed, not too chipmunkey!

Good foundation

I honestly thought about this book I was going to find a lot of scientifically based advice on how to behave in situations where my emotions go out of control but found myself listen to a book that though informative meets my expectations in terms of utility for my personal life. I do consider though it is a good foundation book to start building on my emotional literacy.
