Publisher's summary

He’s too hot for words.

Mia:

Alex Lawson might as well be the hottest book boyfriend imaginable. A fun, romantic, possessive, pantie-melting man. And the best part? He’s real. For a girl like me - a slightly awkward book addict - Alex is a dream come true, straight off the pages of my favorite romance novels.

But our story is turning into a whirlwind romance - the kind that only exists in books. Are we heading toward our own happily ever after? Or is he too good to be true?

Alex:

Here’s the thing: I’m not a bad guy. Lying to Mia wasn’t part of the plan. Finding success as a romance author using a female pen name wasn’t part of the plan, either. But sometimes, life takes unexpected turns.

Like realizing the woman you’re falling for is your alter ego’s online best friend.

Online, she thinks I’m a woman named Lexi. In person, she knows I’m all man. I want to worship her body and claim every inch of her. But if she discovers my secret, I could lose everything.

Book Boyfriend is a stand-alone romance with a guaranteed-to-make-you-swoon HEA. It contains mature language and content and is intended for a mature audience. Fair warning, ladies - Alex will melt your panties off, so have an extra pair on hand before you buy.

Slow starter

I love the story once it got going but it took a little longer than I would have liked to get going but I am glad I stuck it out!

LIGHT AND SWEET ROMANCE

This story was sweet and easy to listen to.

It starts with the main snafu happening right off the bat, then it goes back in time to tell the tale.

The story flows nicely, then it gets to where everything started- the conflict when everything unravels.

Loved the resolution to the conflict, and the story closes with a great epilogue.

The narration was pleasing, and I would recommend this audiobook.

A Real Book Boyfriend

Mia and Alex meet in a bookstore when she drops her books. He's enamored with her and offers to buy her books. Alex is a romance author writing with a female pen name and no one knows but his sister. Mia has an office job and does a book review blog on the side under an alias. Neither of them realizes that they know each other from online where Alex has a page online for his/her fans. Mia has connected with her and tells her about her new date. As Mia tells Alex/Lexi about things that happened, Alex realizes that his "BB" book blogger is Mia. He wants to tell her the truth but things keep interrupting them. I like how this story moves along and doesn't drag. I really liked Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell's narrations.

Absolute eargasm

I will not focus my review on the story because I read it the traditional way the first time, and it was delightful. I want to flex the audiobook production of this book because Stephen Dexter did a FANTASTIC job narrating Alex! I now absolutely have a full-blown voice crush on him. I would listen to him read a phone book for all I care! I love how he brings all the characters he narrated to life by just using his voice. Of course, that is no easy feat, but you can easily determine which ones he's narrating, and that just adds convenience to the listening experience. The best part in his narrating of this book? The sex scenes. Don't call me a perv just yet! Because at first, I wondered if it was a production gaffe that he was narrating the scene in a hurry, but later on, I realized that he was channeling the hero's POV down to the tee. I could almost hear him gritting his teeth because he was holding back and bringing it on, if you know what I mean. I say he just nailed those parts, pun intended! He just made those parts sexy and steamy in equal measure. I mentally applauded him for that superb performance.

Maxine Mitchell narrating the heroine was also good. I love how she does her male voice. They do not sound awkward. But there was a part in the book where both narrated the same paragraphs or, should I say, the same scene in their POV. I understand it may be their take on the scene. I hate to be biased, but I was more captivated by the male POV.

Ultimately, this has been another wonderful listening experience. If you are in the mood for a sweet and spicy read aurally, I highly recommend this one!

So cute!

I absolutely love the unique yet still familiar plot of the secret identity based in the romance book world. Mia is a sweet and sympathetic character with plenty of quirks and insecurities yet undoubtedly relatable. Alex, like most book boyfriends, is almost too good to be true. This is a low angst, fairly steamy, perfectly charming story of two people who are simpler meant to be. Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell are great together and set just the right tone for these two endearing characters. This story was sweet, swoony and just right.

A romance reader’s dream!

A romance reader’s dream, this story tells the tale of a writer and reader destined to have a HEA. Who wouldn’t swoon when a handsome man bought your books 📚 and asked you out?

Narration is great, perfectly paced to get the feel of both characters.

Swoon

I love it when a book makes you feel like it’s giving you a warm hug. This book does that, then rips the blanket off and when you finally get the blanket back you are rewarded with a smart, fun, swoon-worthy, hunka hunka burning man candy to snuggle up in the blanket with you!!! It’s true to life context and characters are expertly written. The plot line is so believable that it allows you to fully immerse yourself in their romance.
Thank you for the joy this first book gave to my soul! On to the next!! 😍

Really enjoyed Mia & Alex’s story

I really enjoyed this book. Narrated wonderfully by Maxine Mitchell and Stephen Dexter, who’s a new to me narrator.

This was a fun story with very little drama or angst. I loved the plot of the story. Maxine was amazing as always as Mia. Stephen was really good as Alex, however, there was a few times that it was hard to differentiate between characters with his narration. But overall I really enjoyed everything about the story.

I’m definitely excited to read or listen to the others in this series.
