Acerca de esta escucha

Dhane kicked the bucket in spectacular fashion, every bone crushed, every organ popped against the full force of a 40-ton garbage truck speeding through a red light.

The only part of him intact—whole—entirely unaffected by the grisly affair was his soul. Souls are durable things, you see, like kids: they bounce.

And bounce he did, into the abyss between worlds, drifting until one excited soul watcher fished him out and found him a new home, a heaven for gamers and nerds and everything in between.

It was all he could have ever wanted in the afterlife, down to choosing his class, killing mobs, and exploring a beautiful fantasy world chock full of mysteries yet to be discovered.

At least…it would have been those things if that first day had gone a little tiny bit differently.

Instead, he now finds himself locked in the middle of an eternal conflict between Light and Shadow—humans and monsters—potentially being the enemy to all.

Wrong Divinity is the start of a new GameLit series that balances comedy with serious themes. It's an isekai—a portal fantasy—to the spirit realm. Join Dhane, our underdog, as he explores his new world, a world full of unique characters, RPG mechanics, and spiders—ugly, terrifying spiders—while he learns what it means to be an Arachnomancer.

This is not a story about an op protagonist. Our MC gets rocked nearly every step of the way in his journey. While I think the power scaling/leveling aspects and pacing get left by the wayside most of the time. It balances that out with an interesting world and characters.

The narration was pretty good. Qarie Marshall did a good job for the men but struggled voicing the female characters. I just wish we got more of Reba Buhr. Her solo chapter was really well done. Just makes me with this was a true duet.

I'll definitely be picking up book two. Hopefully, it's not too long a wait.

Good set up

The narration was good but the recording was clipped and paused is some parts, Its happend multiple times but it wasnt too bad. The story is ppretty good i would say i wasnt worse for it by spending the credit.

it pretty good actually.

It sets itself up as a fun romp through an absurdist litrpg setting. However, instead of anything fun like that, the MC is just abused over and over again by the arbitrary "let's make him the underdog by dragging him through hell over and over again" plot. Which is NOT entertaining, and is actually really annoying after having gotten excited about the fun romp that didn't actually happen.

Disappointed

I loved the humor and the narration sold the humor exceptionally. His writing style had a great cadence, which made it an easy listen and likely aided the narrator.

Story was okay. Nothing overly engaging but definitely an enjoyable listen. Weren’t many places where I missed parts due to external distractions which to me gives it a positive review from my viewpoint.

Narration was fantastic.

I’m 100% from now on in any litrpg gonna always skip the first book. It’s wild how many nvm not how many but all have the Mc getting destroyed, imprisoned, and tortured. With him just being a turd. That’s what this book is and I don’t think I’ll checkout the second one.

I barely got two or three chapters in and immediately wanted to give the book 3 stars review. if the author thinks that is comedy, I am very concerned for the series. If you can put "wha wha whaaa" after a moment and it happens multiple times in the same chapter, instant dislike. It would have been funny if he had chosen the spider divine and he hated spiders, but him being tripped and forced into a choice that he did not choose is not. I going to try really hard to finish the book and hope it stays at 4 stars...

worst fears turned greatest power! this is a really fun book, and definitely worth the read!

hilarious!

Let's say that only 'Humans' can be the light. In an afterlife filled with nothing but gamers, I know for a fact that a lot of them would never trust the church. There'd be many more guilds, and how the fuck is a vampire on the light side?

I wish that authors would start talking to gamers before making books that primarily have gamers at the front and center.

great performance meh story.

The first half was a bit rough with lame humor and eye-rolling arachnophobia. However, sometime into it, things switched around, especially during those last few hours that made sticking with this book all worth it in my eyes. The MC goes from an utter nerd with unreasonable fears to owning his own powers, becoming a bad*ss. Hint: Don't throw someone away where they can have an all-you-can-eat exp farm. That being said, I'm now hooked and can't wait to start the second book, hopefully it maintains the momentum of the last portions of this book.

UPDATE: I'm almost done with book 2, and it has doubled down on the quirkiness and lame humor that I dislike so much. I appreciate humor, especially dark humor, but this leans more towards slapstick, reminiscent of books like "Mayor of Noobtown." If you enjoy that style, this book will be perfect for you; it's just not my cup of tea. My greatest frustration lies in the concept of an Arachnomancer, a character archetype brimming with fascinating and dark potential, which seems misplaced in a comedic setting.

Reminds me of "Mayor of Noobtown"

It feels like a Mashup of He Who Fights Monsters and Looney Tunes directed by Quentin Tarantino.
