A first

Great first book to a new series I hope. I want to thank the author for putting this on audio format, I know it's costly but in the long term it's worth it I think.

Solid story, solid narrator. Yes it is a isakai but not a horrible cringe fest.

Portal Isekai with Blood Powers

Good intro into the world with a MC that has blood-based powers. It is fun to see the nuances and differences of the powers and the world building. Good book 1. :)

Good start

I liked the premise. The magic system was cool and had some unique features. The class felt novel and led to an original build. I enjoyed the story. I’ll definitely read the next book in the series. The narration was solid.

Good story but predictable.

This was an excellent story, but unfortunately, too much of the story fell into a lot of cliché. It was very predictable that the main character was going to be kidnapped. In fact, it was foreshadowed so much earlier in the novel that by the time it happened, you said oh it finally happened. Overall the writing was good. The main character, though somewhat timid, is likable, and there were a few places where the story contradicted itself.

don't like the MC

the overall story is fine but MC nothing but a run of the mill whinny spaze claims to a gamer and anime lover and gets overwhelmed by everything even tho good chunk should be expected just wanted to give him the backhand most of the time and hopefully get him to chill out.

softer on the stats and game elements. characters are more relatable with realistic behaviors and responses to situations. good narration

Great start to a LitRPG light series!

First off, this book was a lot of fun to listen to, and I finished it the day I got it. I really enjoy the main characters, and they are a lot more reasonable/mature than most in the genre. The system is basically skill based, where one can have several classes with really only one or two skills each, and they advance and evolve through leveling the skill or using it in unique ways. Overall, an interesting and fairly loose system where "stats" are all behind the scenes.

The main plot was overall a good adventure, stuck to some of the tropes, while throwing a lot of them on their heads. Overall, things progressed rather well, we found out a lot of teasers about the overall world, and have what looks to be a fun adventure continuing on the next book. I very much am looking forward to listening to it when it comes out.

The narrator did a great job overall, and had great, unique voices for fhe main characters and antagonists.

My only complaints were a few continuity errors in the first few chapters. For example, the race of a person was commented on when the MC met them as being human, which was important to the plot, and then the next scene, he's a beastkin for a different part of the plot. Possibly, the MC was just mistaken because he was in a rush in the earlier scene, but it didn't seem like it. Overall, didn't notice any real issues besides this one, and it just stuck out.

I definitely recommend this book for those who like stories that are less "crunchy" and game-like, and more like a slightly systemized fantasy world with progression mechanics.
