The life of a farmed slime was cruel. Syl was constantly at the mercy of humans, a slime whose only purpose was to eat and recycle garbage. The threat of lethal core-destroying knives wielded by innocent children was a constant shadow. This was not the life Syl had envisioned. So, they made a daring escape to the wilderness!

Along the way, Syl discovered the joy of eating everything they encountered. But the local monsters weren't too thrilled with another creature moving in. Humans, dwarves, and elves see monsters as nothing but experience. Goblins see Syl as an exploitable resource.

With the odds stacked against Syl, the question of their survival loomed large. Could they not just survive but thrive? Could they unlock new magic and integrate new slime cores? The future was a vast, uncharted territory, but Syl was unwavering in their determination to explore it, no matter the challenges that lay ahead.

And the biggest question of all—

Can Syl make any friends?

Decent lit RPG that became a bit tropy

I like the idea of a slime adventurer but that's not what I got. Book devolves into standard get all the skills/perks RPG with shape shifting. You all can guess how to rest of the book turned out.

Also last 2 hours are demos for another book making the book seem longer

Fun audiobook

This was a really fun listen. I don’t want to give too much away, my favorite it the grandpa

What a great listen. Easily kept me interested and wanting more through the whole book, and the narration was very good. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next book.

Outstanding Monster MC story

Outstanding monster MC book... Smart, likable MC who kills when necessary but never goes overboard. Borderline OP by the end but not in an unrealistic way.

Unique and smart

Not your standard LITRPG. MC and system are well thought out and different from most. Well read and written, I will continue the series DESPITE the obnoxious 2 hr unasked for preview of a completely different book. Not the author's fault so won't lose a star.

good story

The narration feels rushed as you go through the story. If they took like half a second between situations. That would be good.

Mixed opinions

First off the bat, the story itself was a banger, nothing to complain about: the author and editors did an amazing job across the board. However, I feel like the audio desperately needs to be re-recorded, or at least re-mixed, because there are countless instances where there are obvious jumps and cuts in the quality of the voice recordings, or points where bits and pieces were obviously re-recorded on different hardware and spliced in during post-processing. Overall, the resulting was a somewhat rough listening experience. The VA's did an amazing job, don't get me wrong; the fault is completely with whoever did the audio mixing and mastering, because I have NEVER come across something with audio this rough in a finalized production. The way some of the stuff is cut together at times, it almost sounds the way that Spamton G. Spamton (from Deltarune chapter 2) tends to talk.

The last 2 hours of the book are a preview of another book

How is this acceptable under audible's terms? What's next, 20 hour audiobooks with 5 hours of ads? Ridiculous given the premium they wanted for this title vs objectively better books.

great all around

great story and narration. I followed this one on royal road and it was so fun to hear it brought to life

amazing

it's a dangerous thing making a book. this good getting us this hooked now. if you don't make more in this series we will have to come for you. but seriously, I love books where the main character is a monster or reincarnated as a monster. normally I don't like it when they get the ability to look human because they almost always spend the rest of the series only being human and then it's like what was even the point of making it reincarnated as a monster but this character isn't afraid to embrace their monstrous nature and only takes human. or in this case elf form to stay safe. but we still get plenty of monster action this is the first time I've seen a reincarnated as a monster that actually perfectly balances it with a human form. amazing job please make 20 more books
