Publisher's summary

Noah Brown has a gift for fighting.

Unfortunately, punching things doesn't pay the bills, at least until he died and an Eldritch god found his soul.

The encounter brings him to a new world, summoned by bloody cultists. He's got nothing but the shirt on his back and a strange item in his system menu.

[???]: A source of infinite potential.

Perhaps he'll finally get to put his gift to good use.

Don't miss the start of an action-packed crunchy LitRPG series from KrazeKode, author of The First Law of Cultivation. Loaded with stats, skills, combat, and power progression, it's perfect for fans of Iron Prince, Road to Mastery, and He Who Fights with Monsters!

Feels like a rip-off please read

I saw a review saying it was like Cradle and He Who Fights Monsters 2 of my favorite books but it's feels like it just ripped them off the story's okay the Mc is just plot armor galore and the other characters are pretty flat but overall not bad

A good start to a power progression fantasy

I will say that the beginning of the book plays very similarly to the start of he who fights with monsters with Jason and I shall list those similarities. Noah is summoned to another world by an accident by cultists manges to kill way above his weight class. gets knocked out a couple times. gets slightly sinister powers and after the cult shenanigans he's let loose to discover the world but a major shift from he who fights with monsters is Noah is presented with a big bad group who Noah hates and thus shall kill. And everything about the story is great except the narrator with his lisp. he will pronounce mana as manner sometimes and Aurelia is sometimes Auralela or aurlia and other butchered words. but overall I like it and while he felt comparable to Jason at the beginning he becomes his own unique character later so it's a solid 8/10 would have been a 10/10 if the author picked a better narrator

nasal narrator but great story

The narrator used the most obnoxious, nasal voice for the main character. Yes, he is portrayed as a frequently annoying guy but this was over doing it. It made it difficult to listen to but I'm glad I powered through it. It has all the hallmarks of a typical isekai but I liked the character development, humor and interesting world building will probably keep reading if not listening.

It could have been much better

So many missed opportunities to make this a great book but all too often many writers get caught up in unnecessary conversations with side characters and add useless details about things that don't move the story forward in any useful way and I find that kind of writing to throw off the entire pacing of the book which immediately pulls the reader out of the story and does nothing but causes frustration to the listener...it could have been better and I don't think I will bother with book two.

It is worth the credit

I enjoyed the book but I disagree with the narrator's choice to give the MC a bit of a lisp.
aside from that my only issue is that character level means literally nothing. MC starts at level 0 with 0 attributes and his first move is to kill a level 27 cultist followed by a 100+ lvl abomination. It is still a good book and I am looking forward to book 2, but it could use some refining.

Ripped off He Who Fights with Monsters

Almost every good concept in this book was stolen from HWFWM, and the narrator mispronounced a lot of basic fantasy words. But was still overall a good book (probably because I really like HWFWM).

Good start for a great series!

Being awoken by a god can be a very bad thing! Making that god mad can only make things worse!
