I Listened To This Straight Thru!

What did you love best about 2 Second Lean?

I really enjoyed the fast pace and bite sized chapters. I'm a LEAN/Six Sigma green belt and I had a pretty good understanding of the basics prior to this, but I cued this up on a four hour drive from Houston to Dallas and back and listened straight through to the end. The author does a great job of making LEAN understandable and FUN! It was a great listen!

What about Paul A. Akers’s performance did you like?

Very engaging. Well done narration.

Read it. Listen to it. Implement. REPEAT.

Giving the book 5-stars was the easy part. Implementing the ideas and developing a culture such as the one at Fastcap requires a little more work on the reader's part.

Paul Akers is a fascinating, inspiring "regular guy". Take what you will from this, but miss out on the lessons at your peril.

The delivery is excellent too, with Mr. Akers' passion coming through in spades throughout.

I can't recommend this book highly enough.

This is a great starting point!!!

I have never been more inspired to learn more about "Lean Manufacturing". The greatest take away from this book, is to invest in the education of your people! Teach them to see waste!!! Awesome motivational book!!!

Worth the Read

As a newly promoted Operations Director with a huge hit list of issues, and fires that need to be extinguished, this book confirmed I need to continue to empower the team to charge forward and fix what they see needs fixing. After listening to this book and hearing the energy and happiness that Paul has, I want nothing more than our team to enjoy coming to work and loving what the do and having fun doing it!

Useful

I don’t like the author’s excitement level. It seems somehow inauthentic. The book has some great ideas that are easily accessible to the layman despite his odd style.

I read this as an employee

Our boss turned us on to this idea. Like most I'm always the sceptic. These principles are simple and easy to apply right now just on your own without a boss like mine. As an employee I highly recommend this book no matter your occupation or if your boss is interested or not.

I recently got promoted as a supervisor and this book has given me so much encouragement to improve my warehouse and build upon these principles. Finished the book in one sitting and I'll read the Toyota way next. Awesome book. I know that this will greatly impact my life. Tysm!!!
