Story
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

But, as Rachel Hollis writes, it is up to you how you come through your pain—you can come through changed for the better, having learned and grown, or stuck in place where your identity becomes rooted in what hurt you.

Story
Divorce is the intersection of everything we hold dear in life: love, sex, money, and children. When those are threatened, people get angry. Logical and reasoned decision-making spirals into power plays and finger-pointing and potentially open warfare. Without a clear head, divorce is a lose-lose for everyone except the lawyers. It doesn't have to be that way. Family law attorney Raiford Palmer has helped clients find a faster, more peaceful, less costly alternative to "World War III" divorce cases.

Publisher's summary
Trust your gut, take care of yourself, and find new life on the other side with this “straightforward” (Ilene S. Cohen, PhD, award-winning author of When It’s Never About You), empowering guide to divorce for moms.
We hear it all the time on the news. The divorce rates are rising. More children are being raised in split homes.
But you didn’t think it would happen to you.
Luckily, you’re not alone. Popular divorce coach Michelle Dempsey-Multack not only survived her own divorce but figured out how to move on with her life, just like you will, too. Now happily remarried with a blended family, she’s living proof that no matter which “firsts” you might be experiencing as you end your marriage, and no matter how long you stayed with someone who didn’t meet your needs, your best days are ahead.
Mom’s Moving On is your “go-to guide” (Dr. Elizabeth Cohen, psychologist and author of Light on the Other Side of Divorce), filled with practical, actionable, and empowering advice from someone who has been through it and has come out the other side. Through Michelle’s guidance, you’ll learn how to navigate your divorce with confidence, adjust to life as a single mother, and shift your perspective to find your way back to your best self. From coparenting to dating as a single mother, you’ll learn how to truly move on and create the life you deserve.

Story
Children today live in an unpredictable, disruptive, and often violent world. Many of them live in two different homes with different sets of expectations. They face bullying at school and online. They hear news of school shootings, and racially or religiously motivated violence. They may have lost a friend or a loved one. As parents, the impulse to protect our children is strong, but that very protection can end up handicapping them for life. Rather than seek to save them from the hard things, parents must teach their kids how to cope with and rise above their problems.

What could possibly be “lucky” about addiction? Absolutely nothing, thought Laura McKowen when drinking brought her to her knees. As she puts it, she “kicked and screamed . . . wishing for something - anything - else” to be her issue. The people who got to drink normally, she thought, were so damn lucky. But in the midst of early sobriety, when no longer able to anesthetize her pain and anxiety, she realized that she was actually the lucky one. Lucky to feel her feelings, live honestly, really be with her daughter, change her legacy.

Story
Superheroes don't start from glorious beginnings. Their origins are almost always marked by traumatic events that leave them helpless and scared. Batman witnessed his parents' murder. Superman was sent away from his dying planet with no one to guide him as he grew up. Orphaned Catwoman was forced to steal food to survive on the streets of Gotham. What makes these superheroes super is their determination to not be defined by helplessness. They embrace their origins, their flaws, and their mistakes and strive every day to become the best versions of themselves.

Solid Sisterly Advice
I devoured this book, bought for a girlfriend as well, and when I was not able to be hands free (time for this single mama to clean the house), I ordered the audio book because I just could not stop eating it up.
Michelle is a chef, and MMO is a delicious concoction, just what the doctor ordered for moms going through this transition in life.
From Michelle's book, podcasts, and professional coaching, she is a solid advisor showing you the rainbow after your storm. I highly recommend, and I'm glad I found her at the needed time.

Not just for Divorced Mama’s!
I wish I had this book when I got divorced 13 years ago! Although I do not have to co parent, I found this book helpful for women/men going through any time of bread up.
Michelle says all the things everyone is already thinking but just scared to say. She is an amazing storyteller and I love her direct and honest approach.
If you are currently going through a tough time, take her advice word for word. And most importantly journal!!!

A must read / listen to if you’re going through or recovering from Divorce
Michelle is a bombshell. I binged her podcast and love her energy and no BS attitude. Her advice and her perspective on co parenting is solid and her content encourages women to do the right thing by the kids, doing it all with class. Thank you Michelle for your support for divorced women !
<3 you

Going through a divorce READ THIS
My only regret is I wish I would have read this sooner. She is spot on with a lot of what she went through and her side comments of what you want to say / think is perfect LOL yes, I want to say to him all the bad things but is that best … probably not. 🙃 I laughed, cried & enjoyed this book so much I didn’t want to stop listening! If you are going through with a divorce please read this. If you went through one still read it! It has truly helped me in many ways.
