Author seems pro-adultery

Good book for those wanting to rationalize or justify having an affair or putting personal “happiness” above all other values in life even to the clear detriment of their loved ones.
Listening to this book is an insult and further injury to those who have been betrayed by a spouse.

More about the divorce process...

I was looking for a read on how to move forward after divorce not about the process and deciding to divorce

he wants it, I don't. married at 19, "D" af 14yrs

Though I'm not the asking party in my divorce... this book did bring to light, how much I have blind to, thee entire time I've been married.
(currently still in the divorce process and proceedings).

He claimed unhappiness, and I had given him my world, universe, and beyond... for 14yrs.
He was literally my "everything"!

Without telling my whole life's "sob story" of now realizing that I was "young and dumb"... (although I loved him, [ and will always love the memories, in which I choose to remember, categorized as either: positive or "self-building"], I know he will always be loved in my heart; even with the good, bad, and the ugly.... I have no regrets, just what I like to consider to be "better knowledge of me" now.

THANK YOU, Abby Rodman.
I now have a different perspective of my divorce... I can (and will) survive this!!

outstanding

Thoughtfully and poignantly written. As a psychotherapist myself, I admire the author's ability to present, sometimes painful, information in an appropriately humorous fashion. I particularly enjoyed her inclusion of other people's comments in her own work. I am a 25 year marriage veteran, who was feeling stuck and blind-sided after being served with Divorce Papers, and this book helped , largely by giving me some " one session therapy" (read : a slap in the face, but in the good way) .This book is a must read for any woman (or man) facing a " Gray divorce " .

Skip it

If you are a woman contemplating divorce or wracked with guilt over cheating on your spouse, this book is for you.

If your spouse left you or cheated on you, your divorce was not something you chose or you are already pretty far down the path towards divorce being final this book is not great for your mental health. You will hear over and over that life is going to suck, how miserable divorce is, and apologetics for cheaters.

A Must for those contemplating marriage viability

I've listened to this audio book THREE times. I will listen to it again. It doesn't recommend you stay or go, but opens truths about marriage, divorce, starting over.

A really helpful and insightful book

I've enjoyed listening to this book which provides clear information on many aspects of separation and divorce. There were some real light bulb moments which confirmed to me that the decision I made was the right one. I feel empowered to live my life and although I'm not ready for a new relationship, I know I am getting stronger every day and that day will come. I would certainly recommend this book if you are considering separation or in the process of divorce.
