I now use "The Basic Exercise" several times a day with very apparent positive effects to reduce overall tension. Other exercises described in the book are helpful as well. Highly recommended.

Valuable information

Rosenberg is a decent writer, but this book should be chiefly judged based on the valuable information. It is a fantastic contribution to our understanding of health and well being, and I’m grateful this man is with us to share his knowledge. He teaches the exercises in the book, which make it well worth the cost of purchasing it.

Lots of good advice to help with VN problems

Lots of good advice to help with Vagus Nerve problems and a really clear explanation as to why they appear in the first place. He’s an author that treats you like an adult and with respect.

Improved Sleep & Health

After reading this book, I got the neurotransmitter supplements and worked on mastering the habits described to revitalize my vagus nerve. My vagus nerve was inflamed from the left side down and the pain was off the charts. The pain went away in a week. What a relief.

My husband just informed me his ear ringing he's had for years is less than it's ever been since starting the neurotransmitter supplements alone. Who knew?

You have to read this

This book will surprise you, unless you are already familiar with the Vagus nerve, which I was not. I am using an essential oil blend for the vagus nerve, so this book really explains the important of having a healthy vagus nerve.

Such important information and practices

An important book for understanding overall health and wellness. I have struggled with anxiety and depression most of my life. I was recently diagnosed with OCD, and I have been doing a tremendous amount of research over the last three years. Most of the research I have done has uncovered more and more the importance of the vagus nerve. I had never heard of it before three years ago, when I had a serious of debilitating panic attacks and suffered from panic disorder. The understanding that this book provides is revolutionary and so important. Our understanding of medicine in the West has overlooked this crucial part of the Body. So much can he effectively healed and treated with an awareness of the vagus nerve and it's functions. I am so grateful for this book.

Much need information

I am a trauma-focused counselor and the Polyvagal theory has shaped a lot of my work recently. This audiobook has been extremely informative and applicable to the work I do. It has certainly enhanced the work I am been practicing on a daily basis.

A must have

The simple exercises provided give hope for improved health but with a greater understanding of WHY and HOW they do so. Filled in a lot of puzzle pieces pertaining to “the big picture”, in my mind at least! Thank you!

Good audiobook, very readable

It's very approachable and there are good exercises and things to do to bolster your vagus nerve. My only "complaint" is that you might come away from the book thinking the vagus is the end-all-be-all for health in the body. And hormones and the enteric (gut) system is given about a sentence in the book. So don't loose sight of the entirety of the system when reading this. But it IS a great book about the vagus.
