Publisher's summary

She loved me. I hate her.

As a kid, she crushed my dreams to dust.

She tore both of our families apart with one confession, ending any chance of happiness for either of us and setting off a ripple effect of chaos.

Now she’s back as the new girl in school, and she doesn’t suspect the war that’s coming. She doesn’t realize the anger I’ve been harboring.

I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to ruin her life, and it’s finally here.

Because even traitors sleep - and I’m going to make sure she only dreams of me.

Then I’m going to destroy her.

This is a dark high school bully romance with mature content and themes. It contains dubious situations that some listeners may find offensive. If you're looking for a white knight hero, this book is not for you.

Hot and Very Explosive

Wicked Dreams is the first book in The Fallen Royals series. S. Massery did a wonderful job setting up the series and bring it alive from the first page till the very big cliffhanger at the end. Yes, I did say big cliffhanger, it is a series after all and no author wants to leave you with all the answers and mystery gone when writing a series. Margo and Caleb has a lot of history together and their love as children quickly turned to hate when their world turned upside down. S. Massery kept my attention even while going back into the past to give details on what was happening from both Cale’s and Margo ‘s POV. Sometimes if an author does this you can easily lost interest if not done right and S. Massery definitely kept and held my attention. There is so many twists, turns, and things going sideways. Wicked Dreams definitely was not boring or predictable. Wicked Dreams will leave you with your emotions in a whirlwind of tangled emotions. Not to mention, the heat between Caleb and Margo is 💥🔥. Just when you think you have got a lock on them something will change. There is so much I want to say but then again I don’t want to ruin the book for anyone. I can’t recommend Wicked Dreams enough.

The narrators did a wonderful job. They both brought the book to life and you could visualize the events and feel what S. Massery wanted readers to feel. The speed worked very well for Wicked Dreams. With most devices you can change it but I found the default to be perfect.

Enjoy reading/listening all about Caleb and Margo and be prepared for the cliffhanger at the end.

WOW

I don't know where to start with this story. High school for a lot of kids was horrible and after reading Wicked Dreams I can understand why. The boys were worse than the girls and that should say a lot.

Caleb and his crew was liked by everyone and they could do nothing wrong. They ruled the school and everyone knew how to act, what to do and how to treat people. There was absolutely nothing they could do wrong. Well that was until Margo.

Margo has a past with Caleb and a few other people in the school but she was placed in the system at a young age and found her way back. Margo went through a lot as a child and had to also grow a thick skin but with her new family things have looked up. Well has looked up as much as possible until Caleb. The cruel jokes endured by Margo and a new friend was relentless and then things started to look up, or so we thought!

This book made me so angry on many levels and then I was relieved but angered again when I thought things were going better. This story will pull you in from the beginning and will not let you go! The narrators were great and made the story more believable. I could imagine watching this from the sidelines.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, Phonomenal Dark Roma

Oh my gosh!! What did I listen to?? This is my first S Massery book. It was absolutely amazing!!!

Life for Margo has been less than stellar. After a delightful childhood playing with the boy next door, her dream life comes crashing down. Years late and things seem to be turning around. Not as fantastic as her childhood but there is the potential for things to be better than they had been. But not everyone is so happy to see Margo again and they question why she is back. Backstabbing and bulling become Margo's norm but there are some positives. However, everything is not as it seems and the cliff hanger at the end of the book.

ARGH, that ending!!! Don't know if I should go and read the next book or wait to hear book 2 in audio. All I know is I need more!!! A phenomenal dark bully romance!

great series

What a great beginning to this series. The lies, the secrets, bullying, playing mind games. What was the reason Margo was put in foster care? She can't remember what happened when she was 10, when her father was arrested. But for what? She gets glimpses of memories in her nightmares. Who is UNKNOWN. Who taped a video of her with Caleb? Why does he hate her so much. Why did he tell the Jenkins those lies? Was this Caleb's plan all along to destroy her? What an epic cliffhanger.
Stephanie Rose and Troy Duran are excellent vocal performers. Wow, they really brought this story to life! Every emotion, every voice , every character was perfection! They flawlessly transitioned from one character to another. Thank you for the great listen! I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review!

Badly narrated.

The female narration sounds seductive for the entirety of Margo’s chapters and gives me the ick personally because it comes off as dramatic and cheesy. The story might actually be good but female narrator takes away from it. I would’ve rather listened to the guy the whole time.

Love this audio

I absolutely love these narrators! They are officially Margo and Caleb to me!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Margo & Caleb
Margo has grown up in the system for the last several years of her life. New foster parents bring her back to her hometown and to a school with those she grew up with. She has a unique strength to her and pushes through when needed. A lot of her past is hard for her to remember.
Caleb is the king of the school. His family is wealthy and well known and he gets away with anything and everything. He is a tease but also so demanding and commanding. He harbors hate for Margo and a lot of secrets from her as well.
Their connection is fierce and instant. They grew up practically in the same house (she lived in his families guest house). They can’t deny each other even when he wants nothing more than to punish her.
The dynamic between these two is electric. You want to know all that’s between them but only get bits and pieces at a time. The supporting characters are phenomenal as well and really add to the growth of Margo and Caleb. This does end on quite the cliffhanger leaving you wanting to instantly dive into the next book in the series for more.

Incredible!

Wicked Dreams was incredibly addictive. It was steamy and angsty and purely wicked.

The narration of the story was great. It was easy to follow, and the narrators fit the characters perfectly, and it didn't feel scripted or if it was just being read. Emotions could be felt.

I'm still rather new to the audiobook world, but I enjoyed it. The story was engaging and enraptured me. The ending took me completely by surprise, and I'm surprised it took me some time to finish the book.

This author is very new to me, and I'm proud to say I'm a new fan. This book has a darkness that completely consumes me, and as much as I want to hate Caleb, I can't. I'm intrigued by him, and the narrator's voice for him is just like caramel.

For my first full-audiobook, it was awesome! The narrators did an incredible job, and although, with a lot of mystery it was easy enough to follow and the story completely consumed me. It was THE perfect read! Highly recommend it!

A dark bully romance that has me wanting more

Wicked Dreams is my first book from S.Massery, and I am on a total bully romance kick at the moment and this fits the bill. I am reviewing after listening to the audio version and in my opinion this romance was on the darker side of the Bully trope, that's ok for me but others I can imagine see Caleb's (the Hero) and his friends actions a little aggressive towards Margot (the heroine).

As I was listening to the story I found it a little choppy at first, however as you get to know Margot you realise there is a reason for this. She herself doesn't have all the pieces, the trauma she has suffered (and no we don't know what this is at this point) has forced her memories to suppress. However Caleb isn't in the dark and remembers everything that has happened, his blame and resentment lies with Margot.

I really enjoyed the mystery of the plot and the core group of characters were engaging and complex. I loved the love/hate relationship between Margot and Caleb I mean chemistry is chemistry right. These two are inexplicably drawn to each other and getting chapters from Caleb's POV was really helpful in understanding his motives throughout. Margot for me didn't come off as weak at all, there is a strength in her. I mean who wouldn't quake in their boots when a guy like Caleb is like your shadow taunting you, yet awakening a desire in you, you never knew you had before.

Some characters by the end of the book surprised me and I know there is so much more to come for the Fallen Royals series. With Margot's backstory remaining a mystery when it comes to her history with Caleb, her parents, her memories, her trauma plus secondary characters that seem to have their own Pandora's box waiting in the wings, I am really intrigued to see what is to come.

I really liked the narrators used for the Audiobook Stephanie voiced Margot well, she packed emotion into her performance and made connecting with her character easier, I thought she had a great male voice throughout her chapters too. Troy is deep, husky and is the perfect fit to bring that dangerous, dark edge to Caleb's character.

Wicked indeed!

True to its title, this book really is wicked! Although well-written, there were too many questions left unanswered for me to enjoy it.

Narrators Stephanie Rose and Troy Duran were great as Margo and Caleb, his voice was just too deep to be believable as an 18-year old.

Wicked Dreams is a dark contemporary high school bully romantic suspense written in first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It's the first book in a trilogy and ends with a cliffhanger. It deals with sensitive subjects some may find triggering.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Caleb and Margo!

Neither of Margo’s parents are in her life for different reasons so when she finds herself with new foster parents all she wants to do is get through her last year until she can be independent. Her new home takes her back to her hometown where she is being villainized for things that were not her fault and that she doesn’t remember.

As children Caleb and Margo were best friends but she is now his enemy. He holds a position of power at their school and he is determined to ensure that he makes her life as difficult as possible. The only problem is that Margo doesn’t know why and he isn’t about to tell her.

Both Margo and Caleb are compelling characters and I enjoyed the one friendship that Margo does have which is with Riley. The storyline draws you in and leaves you wanting more of this couple and the secrets yet to be uncovered. I thought both narrators did a great job with not only the characters but with the angst and the suspense part of the story as well.

A solid bully romance

I love Bully romances. They are like catnip to me and this one is yet another to add to my shelf.

It hooked me from chapter one and I wanted so badly to know the history between Caleb and Margo. All the tropes this hits are major buzzwords for me. There's so much I still want to know and I loved the audiobook. The narrators sucked me in and wouldn't let me go. I was provided an audio copy of this to review. My review is unbiased.

Loved it!

Wow, absolutely loved this story and I'm definitely going to be reading more of this series.
I'm so twisted up over Caleb and his motives. And I also have soooo many questions I need answers to!

Poor Margot.
The relationships between her and the other characters were loving, hateful and sometimes fun.
The narration was fabulous, Stephanie and Troy did an awesome job!

Can't wait for more!

High school bully romance is one of my favorite sub-genres. I find the characters have so many layers to them, and the reasons for their fixations and behavior intrigue me. This is my first listen by S Massery, and she pushed all of the buttons! Margo is coming back to her old town, and going to back to school with people she knew. The one she was most hesitant to see is Caleb. Her friend when she was 10, now has a master plan to seek revenge. We get to see how it all begins to unfold in this first book of the series. I love Margo. I think she has many insecurities, but has not lost sight of herself. I anticipate a strong, confident girl to come out and can't wait to see her. Caleb is the one I love to hate. He at times began to wear me down, but he is just a really difficult personality and I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what he will do next. And the stalker...who is it? Wonderful foster parents so far, new friends, old enemies, this book is off to an amazing start and the cliffhanger has me waiting with baited breath to see what is going to happen.

Stephanie Rose and Troy Duran perform this story with finesse. The characters are deep, and these two voice actors find the right emotions to emulate the scenes. They are amazing and enhance the story with their performance.

Good story

The story is good but the female narrator is very robotic. Pity the male doesn’t have more chapters.
