Publisher's Summary

They say that every tragic hero has a fatal flaw, a secret sin, a tiny stitch sewn into his future since birth. And here I am. My sins are no longer secret. My flaws have never been more fatal. And I've never been closer to tragedy than I am now.

I am a man who loves, a man whose love demands much in return. I am a king, a king who was foolish enough to build a kingdom on the bones of the past. I am a husband and a lover and a soldier and a father and a president. And I will survive this.

Long live the king.

Shocking Love Story

I'm not sure if my headline even really expresses how I feel about this series. I like that all 3 books is each person's version of the love they shared between Ash, Greer and Embry and each book added a bit more to the story. I did get used to Guy Locke's narration although at times it threw me off, Stephanie Rose's narration is great. A few chapters to towards the end got a little weird with Ash's storyline but I was pretty happy how it ended especially because you think it's going to end differently, the epilogue redeemed it for me. The whole "we are three" was a little weird for me but actually left me wondering if this really exists is some peoples real lives or if it could actually work for some people. I'm torn as to which of the men were my favorite only because in their own ways they both made certain sacrifices in order to love each other and to love Greer. I think I will need to relisten to this series at some point to make it all make sense to me. None if it was what I thought this story would be about from beginning to end. There were some pretty intense sex scenes that left me a little unsure as to why someone would want to be treated that way and at the same time they were pretty damn good. The part in the book that I didn't care for was Merlin's revealing secret, it just lost me so I'm glad it was towards the end and I was invested because I could have easily put it down at that point. All in all I could have given it 5 stars but Merlin's secret took one star away.

Just as good the second time!

This was audio re-read for me. I loved Ash’s story and the conclusion to the New Camelot series. Hearing Ash’s story come to life and build to that ultimate moment of pain, of sacrifice, about did me in. Despite knowing exactly how the story went, hearing the narrated version had me feeling the gamut of emotions, as if it was the first time. And that moment of anticipation as the book drew closer to the end? Perfection.

Ash ❤️❤️❤️

When I first read this trilogy I almost couldn’t finish this book. I thought Sierra was ripping my heart out!! So when I got the audiobook I figured knowing everything I wouldn’t be as affected. Well I was wrong!! Hearing Guy give a voice to Ash made me love him more and I was so sad to have the book end! All I can say is - get this trilogy!! You will not be disappointed!!

Amazing love story

Embry, Ash and Greer have a love that should last for ever. However Embry losses faith in Ash’s ability to keep Greer and the country safe. He decides to run against Ash on an opposing ticket. In doing so and his marriage to Abilene he unleashes a multitude of events that trigger an old tale, with a new ending.
This is my favorite quote from the book “My love for the two of you exists inside your love for each other, when you love each other your loving me”
I will tuck these stories away for know, but I know it won’t be forever! Thank you

Good Story

Overall this story was a slow and steady telling of how Ash came to be who he is today. Don’t listen to this expecting a fast paced romance.

It’s powerful and heady and sweet and sexy and steamy. A great listen!

The last debate in the story was insane! The swearing in ceremony was beautiful and touching.

The post swearing in trip! For THEM!! (and you won’t understand this until then end of the book and I don’t want to spoil it.)

And then THE ENDING!!!! And the last bit of the epilogue has me laughing and smiling!

Tears and shock and just WOW!

What a way to close out the series!

Ash and Embry and Greer (and that crazy b!+€h Abilene) Hijacked my whole entire day and I’m not even mad about it. In fact, I prepared myself for it by buying the audiobook this morning when I knew I wanted to finally start AK (since, you know, I preordered it and have had it since release day but have put off reading it because, well... I don’t know why exactly but, whatevs), because I knew that full immersion reading was a must must must for a book this epic and I did not want to stop consuming the tale even when I had to tackle the mundane tasks of life (like laundry and feeding my children and entertaining my husband). Anywho, talk about a rollercoaster of emotions. I don’t think I have ever cried so hard during a book. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to climb into the minds and bodies of characters the way I wanted to with Ash and Embry and Greer. Ash’s self-awareness (and acceptance) and righteousness and GOODNESS and love and dominance is awe-inspiring. Greer’s regal fierceness and intelligence and capacity for love and forgiveness and the strength she displays in submission makes me want to level up. And Embry... well, he’s not my fave in the trio but he makes Ash and Greer happy and he was ready to go to war (LITERALLY) for Greer so he’s pretty awesome too. But you know who’s most awesome? Sierra Simone. That afterword is EVERYTHING and has my geeky little heart sprung. We’re talking major girl crush over here. I didn’t think I could love her any more than I did after devouring Sinner but clearly I was wrong. I don’t have words to explain the soul deep reaction I had to her explanation of how the Trilogy was borne of her Arthurian obsession. I’m not even into King Arthur and them like that but her fascination and what she turned that into has utterly entranced me. So yeah... gotta read ALL of her books now. And all of the ones that will come out in the future. Shout out to Candi Kane PR for accepting me into the Cards of Love: The Moon tour and giving me the heads up that I had to finish the trilogy before diving in to it. Sierra Simone’s the real MVP but you’re a close second. 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

a retelling like no other

listening to the audiobook of this was so well done I highly enjoyed the performance.

the story was paced so nicely and I highly liked how with ASH we got to know him more and how the way he is has been deep seated in him way before he was ever created, that his past molded his future in a way that was always out of his control.

their was a reference in the book about Ash comparing himself to the goblin king out of labyrinth, and I loved how that peek into his early teens resonating over the lines said by David bowie at the end of labyrinth saying to the character sarah - fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave....open up the book is such a way that when u hear ash explain the meaning about what it says and means to him, to me opened up the book is a new light gave u insight into a personality that the world would deem wrong and abnormal but then seeing as making sense due to the inner carnal nature that needed to be feed in order to be happy & give over all he has.

at first I was not much for the character of ASH but this book gave me a deeper insight into the character and made me see him differently and more compassionately then before.

I highly liked how when all the pieces come together at the end of the book come to show u of a love triangle that was destined before time could place it, that this book was saying in a small way behind the lines that past lifes are still connected to us in every life we live that such a thing as a destined path is possible and known.

I highly enjoyed this book ab d it is a series I would gladly read again

What was that?!?!?!?!!!!

This has got to be the most ridiculous book I’ve ever listened to (and I’ve listened to way over 1000). The series started off ok, so I thought I’d get the next book which was alright but not as good as the first. By this time I was invested in the series and wanted to know what happened so I got this book. WHATTTTT?!?!!! It’s like it’s separate from the rest of the series.

First of all it can’t decide what type of book it wants to be. Fairytale? Erotica? Paranormal? Romance? Mystery? This mixing of genres can be great if done right (if it makes a delicious cake). The mix in this case just makes a puddle of mess.

Subterfuge and centrifuge are not the same. Author not knowing words, or narrator getting confused? Not sure which. That wasn’t the only example of words being mixed up.

I think the author had a flurry of ideas then threw them all down on a page and hoped for the best. It really didn’t work. I know this is fiction and you have to let go of reality and just enjoy the ride - but this book had wayyyy too many stupid plot lines for me.

Bizarrely I just want someone else to listen to it too so I can rant and rave all my frustrations about the book with them. It’d be quite cathartic.
