A wonderful conclusion to the series

I was so excited for The Addendum ( The Contract #3) and I wasn’t disappointed, this story was everything I expected and so much more. Being back in the life of the man I loved to hate Richard Van Ryan and his adorable wife Katy and their grown up children took over my life and I was captivated from the moment I picked this book up and I wasn’t going to stop reading until I had read the final word.
Maxine Mitchell and John Lane were the perfect duo to narrate this emotion journey. They brought the characters and their story to life, they hit every emotion and their tones made it a joy to listen to.
Melanie Moreland is one of my favourite authors and once again she has blown me away with this book that’s full of surprises. The man she had us hating was made into a man we fell in love with only to find his past has now caught up with him so will Katy be strong enough to wether the storm about to hit their doorstep……one click to find out.
I loved everything about this beautifully written journey and I’m sure you will too.

Perfect conclusion to The Contract series!

There are certain series of books where you are so content where the last book left off, that you can't picture the story going any further. But then the author comes up with an incredible story and gives us more - and after you read it, you think - this is the story that I never knew I needed.

This is exactly how I felt with The Addendum from Melanie Moreland. I loved this story more than I could put into words. I started this immediately after finishing The Amendment, and I was thinking - what more could Melanie put Richard Van Ryan through? But really, this was the conclusion to this family's story that was so fitting and had everything come full circle for Richard and his family.

And with John Lane and Maxine Mitchell once again narrating these characters (some familiar, some new) it just brought even more life to an already incredible story - and it seriously couldn't have been any more perfect!

Not sure why this book was necessary!

First of all this book messed up the whole series for me! And what happened to Graces story! It has disappeared from publication. I didn’t read it at the time because I didn’t want it to tarnish the other three books and now this is supposed to be the fourth book in the series instead! I don’t know what this author was thinking but half the book was about two old people in their sixties having relations like they were still in their thirties! It was hard to get past but I kept going because I didn’t want to miss anything and I kept hoping the story would get better. Well, it didn’t and now I have to try and erase this book from my memory! I’m just going to pretend it doesn’t exist! I do not recommend this book if you are a fan of the first three books in the series!

Emotional journey

For the first time since I started reading Melanie Moreland's books, I had to walk away and collect myself before returning to the book. Not because it's not good. It's nothing less than I expect from a book by this author. Instead, it's because I connected a little too well with The Addendum. I can relate to Ashley's story on a very personal level. Of course, there are some differences, but the important stuff is eerily similar. So, I know those feelings, good and bad, because I felt them myself. So, when Ashley reveals herself, I had to take a break. Then there were a few more times as the story progressed, and I certainly shed my share of tears. That said, I at no time entertained the idea of not finishing this book. I love these characters. All of them, from Richard and Katy to the many blended families of BAM, I feel like they're old friends and I do visit with them from time to time. So, yes, parts of this were a bit hard for me, and I realize I've been vague but I'm trying not to give too much away. I would highly recommend this whole series, and when you get to this one? Well, let me just say that the many emotions touched on were all spot on. My family and I can speak to that because we felt them. Besides the elements I've mentioned, this is a book about not one, but 2 couples. One reaching retirement age and one just starting out. I love that both had that fire and passion between them. I love that Richard and Katy are still as attracted to each other as they've ever been. And for me, The Contract series just moved up another notch on my favorites list (not that it was ever far from the top).
Just as I suspected, The Addendum was just as emotional for me in audio as it was when I read it. Of course, the extraordinary performances by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane add to the oomph the book already has. I've had the pleasure of listening to both Mitchell and Lane several times now, and I'm always impressed. Combined with the wonderful words of Melanie Moreland, and an already terrific story deserves all the stars and then some.

A great addition to the series

Returning to a couple and series that are well loved is always a risk, but Melanie Moreland did a fantastic job with this newest Contract series book.

I loved getting more Richard and Katy as well as their family and other familiar characters. I was hooked from the beginning, and I liked getting to see how their relationship has continued to stay strong. This story was full of emotion, romance, and drama. Despite being together for years there is more for Richard and Katy to face, but I had faith they'd find their way through it all.

Melanie's an excellent storyteller and I really enjoyed this one! The audiobook is well narrated and an easy listen. Though this is probably the end of the Contract series, I hope we continue to see these characters in the second generation ABC Corp series.

Phenomenal

The Addendum is an absolute must read and listen for all of Richard and Katy’s fans. The Addendum takes us back once again to the VanRyans . Everything is smooth in Richard and Katy’s life . With their kids settled and Richard getting ready for retirement these two are looking forward to the next phase in their lives. However something from Richard past comes to cause turbulence in their smooth sailing lives. As always John and Maxine have done fabulous job bringing this story to life. It was a treat to listen to this book. I want to go back and reread/ listen to The Contract again. If you are Richard and Katy’s fan . This book and audiobook is a must listen. If I could I would give it more than five stars ⭐️

PAST ACTIONS BRING EMOTIONAL CONSEQUENCES!

This audio book was narrated so good! I loved the voices of John Lane and Maxine Mitchell, they did an excellent job of portraying the emotions in this book!

We all thought that The Contract Series was done, but nothing is ever "done" with Melanie. Her characters are like family that are ever present and forever popping up in another book as well as in our minds and hearts💕 . Truth. And, well Richard and his family are always in the BAM and ABC series. But this 3rd book (actually the 4th) caught us all by surprise because of the total WHAM Factor it delivered!

Richard and Katy are the perfect couple NOW. Of course we know they most definitely weren't in the beginning if you read The Contract #1. Life can be so good, but there is always a chance your past can pop up and surprise you. Especially if you have a past like Richard's, one that he is not at all proud of. The past can rear it's ugly head but yet, if you look closely, there can sometimes be an uncut diamond underneath. It's how you handle that diamond that determines the course of your life and others. Richard has to prove he has genuinely changed into the man he has professed and presented to everyone.

I loved this book. There are no heroes or villains. Just humans trying to forge their way through some difficult and trying times and come out better than they were before. And Melanie has done a remarkable job, making us cry, laugh, and melt inside with the love this VanRyan family has. Fantastic book but keep the tissues handy! There is also a wonderful romance happening amidst all the turmoil. Gotta love life!

NOTE: I read this on Radish, and if you did, too, this has some extra that was not in it on that site. Worth the second or third read!

Fantastic Addition to the Series!!

This is the fourth book in the Contract Series. I read it, and loved it! The audiobook version is amazing. OMG! This story is so good!! The storyline is beautifully written, emotional, funny, heartwarming, and enthralling, filled with twists and turns. Some scenes are hilarious. The family bond, and the friendship in the story are wonderful. It was great to see again the characters from the Vested Interest Series, and the ABC Corp Series. Maxine Mitchell and John Lane did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. This is a fantastic addition to the Contract Series.

A story of the strength of real love.

The Addendum is book three in The Contract series but it isn’t just a Katy and Richard story. It is a story of the strength and resilience of love.
I was nervous going into this book. I fell in love with Richard Van Ryan and this author’s writing when I first read The Contract several years ago. I loved how Richard was able to bury his past and reinvent himself from the ashes.

“You’re my future. I know this with everything in me. You’re not alone anymore. You never will be again. You have me.”

In The Addendum that past comes roaring back and all the Van Ryan clan have to open their lives and hearts. I listened to this audiobook as a reread and enjoyed the story even more.
