Benjamin Chase is not my type. He's abrasive. He's arrogant. He doesn't take anything seriously. I'd die before I dated him, but he has something different in mind. He has to get married in the next nine months, or he loses his company to his ex-wife. And apparently I'm the most eligible bachelorette in town.

Story
He's a billionaire heir. A grump supreme. Hater of people. Bigger hater of peopling with people. And my new fake boyfriend. "Emotionally unavailable" doesn’t even begin to describe Hayes Rutherford. He has more defenses than a nuclear missile silo. And he’s the ultimate catch of the century. At least, according to his bank statement. My job’s simple: Keep all interested ladies away from the walled-off heir, by pretending to be his one true love. But you know what they say about fake-dating a billionaire: It’s all fun and games, until the scandals start.

I'm about to throw an ashtray at my boss's head. Turns out, the mind behind my favorite, steamy romance novels...the ones I only read in private...the ones that are my only escape after a long day of dealing with The Boss from Hell? It's not Natalie McBride, the sweet, rural housewife. It's him. That's right: my boss, Adrian Risinger, the 33-year-old, maddeningly sexy, pissant billionaire "bad boy" who thinks he runs my life. He is also the author of all my deepest, most secret fantasies.

The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

Thinking outside the box resulted in the best night of my life. Until I discover the man I spent it with is my new boss. Attending a secret party where clothes are optional wasn’t a life goal of mine. But when the exclusive invitation ends up in my mailbox by accident...well. Who wouldn't be curious? It's not like I'm going to do anything. The handsome stranger I meet has different plans. One glance across the crowded party and an hour later we're stretched out on silk. No names and no regrets. But I’d forgotten there’s always a price to pay for pleasure.

The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

I meet a handsome man at the bar, the kind you only dream about. You know the one? He drinks his whiskey neat and power oozes from his suit-clad form. The night we spend together is perfect - I’ll treasure the memory for as long as I live. Until I discover who he is. My one-night stand. Correction: my rich, handsome, calculating one-night stand. I hate his determination and his ruthlessness. I hate the way he smirks and the thick fall of his hair. But most of all, I hate that I can’t look at him without remembering our night together - a night he’s keen to repeat.

It was an innocent mistake; she knocked on the wrong door. It was mine. If I were a better man, I would've just let her go. But I'm not. I'm a cruel bastard. I ruthlessly claimed her virtue for my own. It should've been enough but it wasn't. I needed more...I craved it. She became my obsession. Her sweetness and purity taunted my dark soul. The need to possess her nearly drove me mad. A Russian arms dealer had no business pursuing a naive librarian student. She didn't belong in my world. I would bring her only pain. But it was too late...she was mine and I was keeping her.

I would say Dr. Cruz Costello is my archenemy. But that would require acknowledging one another, which we haven’t done in more than a decade. He’s the town’s golden child. The beloved quarterback-turned-physician. I’m the girl who got knocked up at 16 and now works at a diner. He is Fairhope royalty. I get my monarch dose from tabloid gossip. He’s well-off. I never should have gone commando in that dress. I'm almost positive the rest of it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been dangling off a hotel balcony. And of course the one person to witness my mortification had to be him. Camden Cox. Sure, today he's gorgeous and wealthy, and fine, I can admit he has a great sense of humor. But once upon a time, he was the boy who loved to make my life miserable. But I'm Sophie Abbott, and if there's one thing I'm good at, it's making a mess. Only this is a disaster. Publisher's Summary
Maddy Wainright has given up on marriage - and men. After dating way too many losers who aren't capable of appreciating her for who she is, she's about ready to resign herself to a life of spinsterhood. Until her insanely rich boss, Daniel Thorne, comes along with an offer she simply can't refuse. He proposes a marriage of convenience - one that would allow Maddy to live in the lap of luxury for a year and Mr. Thorne to stay in the country that has become his home. At the end of their arrangement, Maddy will walk away with a cool two million dollars. All she has to do is move into his penthouse, put on a convincing show in public, and endure a few INS interviews, for which she will be thoroughly prepped. It's a big risk, but one Maddy might just be willing to take, considering the payoff.
At first, it's all business. But when the gentle touches, passionate kisses, and lingering looks they have to give each other in public start spilling over into their private life, Daniel and his devious mind take Maddy to heights of pleasure she's never experienced. And the more she gets to know him, the more she feels that wistful tug in her chest every time he puts his arm around her in public. Before long, she finds herself wishing it were real. As time goes on, Maddy finds herself wondering if two million dollars will be enough to cover the cost of repairing a broken heart. But Mr. Thorne may have yet another secret in store....

Book was an ok listen, but nothing really grabbed my attention to keep me focused. Billionaire needs wife, picks employee and it goes on and on from there. Good for a beach listen or while taking a long drive.

Can I get the 5 hours of my life back?
Serves me right for buying a book with the word billionaire in the title. Bad writing and bad narration made this a totally painful experience. I feel like I wasted time and money on pure crap.
Writing:
It felt like three different people wrote this story and didn't really ask the other to keep up with the storyline. The first third of this story is this billionaire Canadian who is basically an illegal alien and needs to get a wife for Inmigration purpose. So far so good and it was like any other Harlequin type novel.
Then the second third he starts taking his new fake wife to a restaurant that they used to go when he was a child (wait, wasn't he from Canada?)
The last third is when the book gets REAL ridiculous. It felt like the author just finished reading Fifty Shades Freed and decided to incorporate Christian Grey's BDSM play into the story. There were very similar parts integrated. Even when the previous submissive came back into the picture. But in this story it didn't make sense and felt very disconnected.
This story is all over the place and there is no real conflict because they never break up or have a huge fight or anything. The love connection wasn't there either. All in all one of the worst audible titles I've ever bought.
Narration:
Holy breathy narration! What's up with that. Breath! There was too much whispering and breathy narration to make this book enjoyable. I know the storyline was pathetic but the narration did not make it better at all. Skip this one.

Doesn't stand out in a sea of similar books
The performance itself was very good but seeing as I consume so many of these types of books, the story has to be able to stand out for me to enjoy it. There isn't anything that stands out as bad though, I simply didn't enjoy it.

Great kinda realistic love story
This could have been a great great book if the narration was just a little bit better. It was ok... dosen't take away from the story at all...but I really like my man voice a little deeper from that of the female voices... It was a sutble change...but still good narration...
I like how this storyline is different from other girl marries a billionare books... The billionare is fixing to get deported and so he marries his office worker... I like the plot of how to fool INS... they actually start a courtship that leads into a fast wooing and wedding... Made it a bit more real that just love at first sight marrying a billionare...
I really really like the smex scene with the 'Begging' !!!!! Wow, that was awesome... I just love a good smex scene....
All in all this is about a 3.5, not quite a four...
A good credit... save your money on the buy, good sale book!

Could have been
More sexy, more detailed about the BDSM scenes, less navel stiring of the main female character. And the possibilities of having a billionaire employer/lover were not exploited. But it ended well and wasn't a waste of my time.

Excellent writing as usual
Would you consider the audio edition of I Married a Billionaire to be better than the print version?
The narrator was a little breathy like she had a cold but once you get used to that the story itself was good.
It did cause me a little stress closer to the end, but soon got back to where I needed it to be.
Would recommend and worth a second listen to as well.
What was one of the most memorable moments of I Married a Billionaire?
The interview and the anticipation of the wait
What about Veronica Meunch’s performance did you like?
Her tone
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The book made me laugh and made me quite anxious at times.
A good story
Any additional comments?
Good purchase

Great story line excellent narrator
I was pleasantly surprised from this book. It was not boring nor was it dragging on.
The narrator did an excellent job and got me emotional sometimes. It brought this story to life.
