Publisher's summary

From USA Today best-selling author Ava Harrison comes a grumpy/sunshine workplace romance.

The first time I met Charles Cavendish, I accidentally locked myself in a closet with him.

The second time, he became my new boss.

My very grumpy new boss.

No matter how I much I try, I can’t forget what his lips feel like.

The way his arms wrap around me.

I need to keep my distance.

But when the company lands a new account, I’m forced to work side by side with this man.

The handsome devil who makes me forget all rational thought.

But the thing about the devil is...he can lure even the greatest of saints.

A long story

So enjoyed the two narrators, but the story itself was a bit tedious to get through…interesting romp into the professional of talent agencies, however

❤️ THANKS AVA.. I LOOOOOVED IT ❤️

The damaged hero Charles had his walls built high thanks to his manipulative ex - however, the moment his eyes meet a sexy siren’s across a Club, he fails to feel the cracks start to form. Then he wriggles, fights hard and lies to himself for a while when that sexy siren is the new hire at his Advertising Company and he’s forced to work very closely with the confident, professional, talented Raven long into the night. But the sizzles and sparks between them light a fire neither one can ignore or deny. Unfortunately though, there’ll come a time when he’ll be reaching for those damn bricks again after a brutal blast.

Worth a credit? Yes I loved this dual POV office romance that had everything I was hoping for and so so much more from one of my top ‘one click’ authors.. especially with Shane and Vanessa’s combined talents. Together they brought the simmering attraction and embers.. the angst and cold shoulder,.. the sex and smoulders.. the drama and angst.. and the passion and happily ever afters to life.

Fantastical!

I cannot think of one book of Ava Harrison’s that I have actually read because I always wait for her audiobooks. She has such a talent of choosing the best narrator to fit the characters of her book, and this book was no exception.

I could listen to Shane East talk all night, and I actually did fall asleep listening to his voice one night. 😂Vanessa is also one of my favorite female narrators. I love how she can make every character‘s voice sound so different that you would think there was another person narrating with her. She also does a male voice amazingly.

This story was a little different than the mafia world in Ava’s books. I love the rich, grumpy boss genre and this one is going to be one of my favorites. Usually, when the boss is grumpy, the female character would back down and feel sorry for herself. I love how Raven called him out on his crap every single time, even when he hurt her. I love the relationship she had with Charles, but I think the relationship she had with her mother is what I adored the most because I don’t have that type of relationship with my mom. The relationship she had with her friends was enduring as well.

All in all, this was another fantastic audiobook by Ava which I will definitely listen to again. I totally recommend you listening to it on audiobook because then you can get the full effect of the chocolatey, melting British accent of Shane East. 🔥

Deliciously sexy!!

I loved grumpy Charles and his Rae of sunshine. She was completely unexpected for him and he doesn't know what to do with that. I loved that she doesn't take his sh*t  even when he's being an asshat. I liked how close she was with her mom and how she turns to her when she needs her. Not being afraid to be vulnerable since she doesn't have to put on a front to her mother. I also loved every moment of their sexy times together. Definitely no shortage of heat in this one! One of my favorite side characters was Pax. He was such a troublemaker with a great sense of humor.
Vanessa Edwin and Shane East were absolutely amazing in this book as Raven and Charles. Both of them made me sob in quite a few chapters that were highly emotional and the both performed them perfectly.

Ok book

Not the best. Story got old. Female annoying as to how dumb she. Not worth a credit.

Too drawn out

The right ingrediens were there. But the last 1/3 of the were too slow chapters. You could easily skip a handful- which I did.

Great narrators.

Grumpy boss forbidden office romance slam dunk!

Ava Harrison is a must-read author, so when you add in the forbidden office romance aspect with narration by two amazing performers you can definitely count me in! I listened straight through and enjoyed every moment. I was pleasantly surprised by a few plot twists I did not see coming or was expecting to go a different way. Ava's writing style delivers the steamy along with the mysterious and thrilling in a way that kept me engaged to the very end. Charles was a different take on the grumpy boss with a lot going on behind the curtain. While Raven is the sunshine, she is not in any way naïve and stands up for herself, so I found that very refreshing. She has a quick wit, a kind heart, and takes no crap from anyone - choosing to meet challenges head on like a bad ass! I love their chemistry and how they challenge each other while navigating the pitfalls of the forbidden office romance with painful past experiences clouding everything. The high-stakes project on the line with the uncertainty and competitive nature of their business adds the perfect amount of suspense without making it overly angsty. I really enjoyed their undeniable attraction, and the way they both try to fight it. When the walls come down be prepared for the steam factor with all that build-up driving it home!

Vanessa Edwin is the perfect choice for Raven. She really brought the complex layers of her personality to life with the subtle nuances that really pull you in and make you love a character. Shane East's performance of Charles as the broody, grumpy, tortured boss was perfection! These really are performances, not just a reading of a great story. Definitely worth a credit!
