Publisher's summary

Based on his most popular sermon series, New York Times best-selling author Timothy Keller delivers an extraordinarily insightful look at the keys to happiness in marriage.

Few subjects are as compelling-or as endlessly variable-as love and marriage. The Bible is filled with references to husbands and wives, from the story of Adam and Eve to advice in the New Testament, each open to interpretation.

In The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller, pastor of New York's Redeemer Presbyterian Church and bestselling author of The Reason for God, uses the scriptures as his guide to show readers what God's call to marriage is, and why this is such a powerful call. He talks in frank terms about the difficulties that couples have and how they can best work them out while keeping their faith in God intact.

The Meaning of Marriage showcases Keller's vast understanding of the Bible and how it can not only be relevant to relationships today but also form the foundation of a modern, healthy, loving, and long- lasting marriage.

Free opinions are worth what you pay...

great facts... gets a little boring as a Narrative. Maybe narrarator had just a soothing voice. He kept putting me to sleep.

Helped me so much!

While my fiance wanted marriage so badly throughout our relationship I struggled to see the value in it at the loss of my independence and freedom. I hated that I felt this way and thought that I was weird for feeling this way. This book however declares how natural that actually is for many in our culture, and that if you love through actions instead of through feelings then you will truly start to love biblically. I think this should be highly considered for anyone who needs to be convinced on the importance of marriage or even those looking to strengthen their current message. I want to thank the author for such incredible insight, i might need to read this again to continue digesting just what it means to have a biblical marrige!

Possibly the best book on the topic of Marriage!

I have listened to this book 2 times now as it so clearly captures the essence of marriage and debunks the myths too. If I had to choose one book on the topic of marriage, this would be it. I will be giving a copy to each of my kids once they get to that stage in their lives.
