Poor read

I saw a lecture by Dr. Orloff, and would have enjoyed this book much more if it had a different reader. The reader sounds so aggressive reading, which is so unlike Dr. Orloff's speech. The reader's voice is much more suited to reading mystery books. I would suggest a paper copy of the book, because the information is very good.

Excellent Content

I love the message this book put forth, but I was not happy with the reader's presentation of the message. IMHO she somehow managed to make the author seem pompous and arrogant. I've listened to other audio books read by this particular reader (novels) and have enjoyed them tremendously, but this one just didn't come across well for me. In a non-fiction audio book I think it's important to have a reader take on the persona of an author more so than in a fiction book; after all, it's the author's voice that needs to come across and not a fictional character. As I listened to this book I kept having to remind myself that it was not being read by the author. PS -- I just ended up ordering a paper copy of the book because I really liked it and wanted my husband to read it. I knew that if he tried to listen to it, he wouldn't be able to get past the reader's interpretation.

Buy the book... Cynical narrator

The narrator is very cynical. I have a lot of patience and tried to get past the tone in the woman's voice... but she just put a damper on it. If your reading this review and your the author please read it in your own voice... I'll even buy it again.

Unable to listen to the READER for 12 hours

I've gone back and ordered the abridged version in the authors own voice, although I seldom buy abridged. What a waste. The reader makes the message the author is trying to present, unbelievable. Had I not heard the voice of the author on You Tube, I'd not even try the abridged version. I need to hear the sincerity of the authors voice.

Great insights

While I enjoyed the content of this book, like many others, I found the reader unacceptable. She was far too harsh speaking and it was often hard to keep listening but I tried to focus on "content" and not the way her voice carried. The book itself was good, Judith shares some good insight. I really appreciated things she wrote on emotional vampires, this helped me tremendously. The book was not appliccable to myself in some areas like dieting. In Judith's writing about foods though, I found her more knowledgeable than most physicians but very wrong in regards to certain foods to avoid or allow. If you are reading for over-eating issues she holds great advice but as far as what to eat, I would suggest looking into Dr. Joseph Mercola and others like him that specialize in healthy eating.

What I needed to hear

This book put so many of my day to day feelings into perspective, and made sense out of things I couldn't make sense of before.

Incredible book. Poor narration.

This is an incredible book, but maybe it better read than listened to. I was not a fan of the Narrator at all. She is very nasally and gives this book a very lecture like drag. I couldn't make it through the first chapter. If possible give it a sample before you commit to the book. See if it's your style of narration.. personally not mine at all.

My favorite of Judith Orloff works.

If you could sum up Positive Energy in three words, what would they be?

Fresh, intuitive, my bible. Get the unabridged version the abridged will miss too many details.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Positive Energy?

Too many for there to be one. Intuitive empath references through out as this is the main focus of my current studies. This book will help many if at least to offset the negativity in our daily lives and learn how to put a positive spin on things.

What about Anna Fields’s performance did you like?

Great speaker.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Love that the information is not pushed upon me as is with many ideas but presented and I take what I want and what resonates with me. What resonate with me changes over time and as I age.

Any additional comments?

This is the 5th time I am going through this book; this time in audio format. As an intuitive empath myself, this is a priceless piece of my energy medicine. I learn and reinforce many things every time I listen to this book.

Sensible ways to release tension and create energy

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have read and listened to many of Judith Orloff books, and found them packed with practical metaphysical advice.

What other book might you compare Positive Energy to and why?

Perhaps, meditation books, but they fall far short of the information in this book.

What about Anna Fields’s performance did you like?

I thought her presentation was excellent. I've read some negative comments for other reviews but can't understand their concerns. She is clear with a good speaking voice and puts the messages across wonderfully.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, its too long for one sitting and I feel one must take the time to let the message of each chapter be understood and practised.

Any additional comments?

This is a book that I will listen to again and again. Probably, at six month intervals.
