Too Painful to Listen to
Any additional comments?
The general idea is ok. You should be positive. ok, got it, done. I've just summed up the book. Not a bad premise for a book but wow.
Absolutely horrible writing skills. I mean this was killing me to get through it. really the writer just did not have any ability to make a realistic scenario. All of the characters were horrible sitcom stereotypes that had really bad dialog. I could not imagine a single one of these conversations happening in real life.
The narration was also over the top and horrible. Just stereotypical voices and mannerism not even worthy of a show on the Disney Channel.
The premise was simple and could have been good if it was just a book and didn't try to go for this horrible fable. Just bad.
Honestly the counter to this would be the Five Dysfunctions of a team. Same basic concept but MUCH better delivery.

Nothing original in this book
It's a business 'parable' to teach the 10 rules:
1. You're the driver of the bus.
2. Desire, vision and focus move your bus in the right direction.
3. Fuel your ride with positive energy.
4. Invite people on your bus and share your vision for the road ahead.
5. Don't waste your energy on those who don't get on your bus.
6. Post a sign that says 'No Energy Vampires Allowed.'
7. Enthusiasm attracts more passengers and energizes them during the ride.
8. Love your passengers.
9. Drive with purpose.
10. Have fun and enjoy the ride.
The content isn't particularly original nor motivational. The rules are probably more applicable to life than the work environment.

What a waste of time
What disappointed you about The Energy Bus?
Nothing new. A collection of worn out advice; "you need vision, focus, enthusiasm, purpose and love! plus few other trite advice. It's as though we have all been waiting for the author to tell us that to succeed you need enthusiasm! like there is a switch that you can just flick on!
Why anyone need to write a whole book when a small article would be an overkill is beyond me. Save your money and 3 hours of pointless listening.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jon Gordon’s performances?

I loved this so much I listened to it all over again.
I had to slow the speed down as the narraton was too fast for me. I wanted the narrator to draw breath more!

pseudo psychology
I just found that in contrast to the very matter of fact books I usually listen to, this is a bit "fluffy". it's like one person's take on self help. I've given 3 stars because it may help some people and it's not a bad book. But I felt the analogy lacked science and substance.

Energy Bus
I thought I wasn't going to like this book as I thought it started out as a bit cheesy. However, its delivery, pace, story and message soon had me reeled in. It's a very difficult book to stop listening to once your into it. Definitely recommend.

Not a bad book but I just couldn’t get into it at all… I couldn’t even finish the book.

Dreadful
Sensationalised drivel. Aligned closely to the ideals of stoicism. However, packaged more appropriately for a 5 year old.

A great listen for anyone who may be struggling not only at work but in general, and could do with a positive story with worthwhile lessons.

A powerful message delivered in a light hearted, fun way
I like this book because we can all use the reminder that our life is what we make it to be. The message was positive and relatable. Having it on audio book also meant I could get on with chores around the house and still take in the story. I managed it easily over the weekend. Worth listening to or reading.
