Publisher's Summary

In the beginning, God created Adam. Then he made Eve. And ever since we've been picking up the pieces. Loveology is just that - a theology of love. With an autobiographical thread that turns an audiobook into a story, pastor and speaker John Mark Comer shares about what is right in male/female relationships - what God intended in the Garden. And about what is wrong - the fallout in a post-Eden world.

Loveology starts with marriage and works backward. Comer deals with sexuality, romance, singleness, and what it means to be male and female; ending with a raw, uncut, anything goes Q and A dealing with the most asked questions about sexuality and relationships. This is an audiobook for singles, engaged couples, and the newly married - both inside and outside the church - who want to learn what the Scriptures have to say about sexuality and relationships. For those who are tired of Hollywood's propaganda, and the church's silence. And for people who want to ask the why questions and get intelligent, nuanced, grace-and-truth answers, rooted in the Scriptures.

A brilliant book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

To any Christian, no matter what point of a relationship they are in, I would recommend listening or reading this book. It is straightforward and unapologetic when it comes to discussing God's version of what a marriage should look and feel like.

Highly recommended

I've been married for 20 years and can attest to much written in this book Plus I got a lot out of it myself! I recommend this for those thinking about beginning to date, those dating, engaged, married, and even divorced. I will be sharing it with my grown daughters as well as my son when the time comes. The best book on sex relationships I have ever read!

Orthodox Rob Bell

I would have loved this ten years ago, but it's not what I was expecting when I picked it out. Loveology is a book on dating, sex and romantic relationships written in the style of Rob Bell, from a conservative Christian perspective. It's well written for that style, though I spent the majority of my time wondering what John Mark's unique voice would sound like. Ultimately, the subject matter wasn't what I was looking for. I was expecting it to tackle broader human issues of sexuality, similar to Rob Bell's Sex God. This is solely focused on romantic relationships though, and does not talk about how love and sexuality permeates every relationship we have as Christians. It was good, and I think most Evangelicals will love it, it's just not what I was expecting.

I loved it!

This book made me laugh, cry, and helped me to see life in general differently than I was seeing it! It has confirmed what God has been speaking to me this past month. I love that everything that Pastor Comer spoke about was confermed with the Bible. It's official, he is one of my new favorite authers! Thanks Bethek for the referral!

Love this book (no pun intended)

This is such a wonderful book! It is full of real and practical advice that always points you back to the only true source for learning about relationships: the Bible. Insightful and humorous, I could not recommend this book any higher to anyone interested in learning more about the theology of love.

Awesome

True reflection of biblical mindset towards topics that so many people struggle with. I don't know what's on the horizon for me but I know the God who knows and I am now learning to enjoy the gift of singleness.

Fantastic Audiobook

Easy to listen to. Great advice, both biblical and personal. Scriptural exegesis I hadn't heard before listening. I have listened through Loveology twice now and will probably revisit it throughout life.
