I got engaged 7 months ago & I'm getting married this month... It's amazing what I thought marriage was 7 months ago. And why I thought we were getting married.
Although my parents & my fiancée parents have amazing marriages, I was fearful of marriage & mostly fearful of conflict & divorce! Our culture hates marriage & tears it down in media-- and reading this book gave me a whole new view on divorce and...the meaning of marriage, of course. This book is amazing for those who've been married for years too, but I wanted to write a review for the engaged. Those of you who haven't even begun this race, like me, this is an amazing start. Along with Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas & This Momentary Marriage by John Piper. These books will give a really clear picture of what God designed marriage to be, without any mystery. I'm thankful to be starting our marriage with wisdom and understanding thanks to The Meaning Of Marriage.

Can be found in this well written - scripturally based volume! With 62 years and a plethora of books on marriage behind me - I can say hands down - you will find no better, no more accurate a book than this wonderful compilation.

Great Story

Lots of wisdom on marriage for those of us who are single again. Was able to gain deep insight on God's view of oneness and what is required of each to make oneness happend.

Engaged and Thankful I Read This

I actually found a marriage book I felt comfortable reading before my wedding day. I am very thankful for that. I must admit, I love Timothy Keller's work and attended his church in New York for a few years. Yet just the same, his teaching is solid and clear. If you like C. S. Lewis, it is hard to imagine not being able to take something meaningful away from Keller's writing. This work is thoughtful, controversial where appropriate, and something I am looking forward to thoughtfully talking with my fiancée about this book as she finishes it with me.
