Atomic Habits of Christianity

It’s like the Atomic Habits of Christians, but this time I will actually work. Rather than relying on sheer willpower (though there is certainly human responsibility and choice) we are reliant on Holy Spirit for true spiritual transformation. Through practicing the Way of Jesus, we position ourselves to be changed. Incredible insight and wonderfully inspiring. Will always recommend Comer’s books (especially when he reads them himself!!).

SHOOKETH. Thankful for this book, it seemed to unravel and ground me simultaneously. It’s a very important read, & I’m ready to read it, and let it read me again.

Pastor Comer has written a fine work describing the focus and effort that followers of Christ need to have. I recommend that everyone that knows the Lord or wants to know the Lord read it. The only concern I have is the subtle disfavor that is placed upon political and religious conservatives in several of his comments. These comments reveal an inaccurate understanding of both political and religious conservatism. However, it is clear that, even though his underlying bias shows through, he is working to remain centered in God's word within his presentation. That is worthy of respect because it is something that we all must do. well done..

An honest approach to developing a biblical worldview

Appreciate Comer’s intellectually honest approach and avoidance of “Christianese” language to appeal to those who may not have much knowledge or understanding of the Bible. There were parts that felt like he was trying a bit too hard to be engaging, which were a little annoying, but overall the message is so important. Also appreciate the library of scholars and writers that he quotes from. Definitely recommend this to anyone grappling with the ideologies of our day.

Such a great book!

I absolutely love John Mark Comer’s ability to be powerfully true and relevant. This is such an important book for Christ followers right now. As he so consistently does, Comer points the clear direction towards how to apprentice under Jesus in practical ways, and what to watch for as the most logical attacks coming at your soul. This will be a book I will read several times and try to soak deeper and deeper in the clarity it brings to a distracted world.

A Must Read

A clear vision of what we need to do as Christians to make a difference. His words pierced my soul, making me re-examine my actions and thoughts and offering a soul searching way to trust and truly follow Jesus. John Mark speaks truth in a world that doesn’t always walk the talk and calls us back to Jesus, all the while pointing out how we’re following the world too closely, and how we’ve fallen for the world’s lies and faithless version of Christianity. Like the OT prophets, John Mark calls us to turn back to Jesus and gives clear steps on how to do it. So thankful that this pastor is willing to speak truth.
