Too Short

Having read & enjoyed the book some time ago I was looking forward to hearing the audio version. To say that this book is "abridged" is an understatement. I'm sure that if there was a Cliff Notes version of this book it would contain 10 times the information than this audio version.

"AAA"bridged version

The audio book is toooo short. It's a really "A"bridged version of the book. Good material. But not enough for a book.

It Is a short book with a good messag to tell.

It sounded like it was recorded in the 60's but overall all is nice book that points is simple view of life.

Much needed

Requested to read it by me psychologist, reluctant to participate, found the audio version and so glad I did. I am on a pilgrimage and this book gives insight that we are truly not alone, regardless of how we feel and where we are at in life.

Very little substance

What disappointed you about If You Meet the Buddha On the Road, Kill Him?

I found very little of substance here... lots of long, drawn out stories followed by an attempt to draw a lesson or piece of information to learn from, but mostly it falls flat. To be fair this edition is SO abridged that I wonder if the actual book would deliver a totally different message. But for this audiobook, thumbs down.

What didn’t you like about MIchael McConnohie’s performance?

The music in the background was both distracting and made the narrator hard to hear.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Annoyed at the lack of real substance.

Good, but not great.

Good ideas, optimism intermixed with western, eastern philosophy. The psychotherapist as the flawed healer. I found the stories and text interesting, but lacking in depth. The music was distracting. The narrator made the rather sophomoric prose come alive.

Excellent

Kopp is inspirational and deep in his writing. I enjoyed it. His experience with illness made him both bitter and grateful.

Inspiring

Would you consider the audio edition of If You Meet the Buddha On the Road, Kill Him to be better than the print version?

This book really enhanced my perspective on spirituality and about being human. Wonderful stories and a learned author. If you feel a little lost, this book will easily get you back home.

Abridged

I was disappointed this was an abridged version. I think this needs to be made clearer.
