Fabulous, Life Changing

This is about the best book I've ever listened to. It really is life changing. Lots of great life lessons. I have listened to it 4 or 5 times now and have also downloaded and listened to another of his books, The Traveler's Gift. Great words of wisdom.

not so much

i did not finish this... i love the kind of messages that i know the book is trying to impart, but seemed a little too much saccharine. probably not fair, but i set the book down and moved on. i am glad others felt differently about it.

Captivating and a Great Reminder

I truly enjoyed this book. The author did an outstanding job with the character voices and it really drew you into the story. Once I started to listen I did not want to stop. The story line is such a great reminder of what life is about and how we need to remember to look at things. You know a book is good when you miss the characters and are sadden that the book is over.

The Noticer

Educational, thoughtful and entertaining as only Andy can write and tell it. With personal reflections of his own story this book is another home run.

Unfortunately Average

I had high hopes for this book based on the reviews of others. Ultimately, however, I found the book average at best. It did offer some insightful points of view, but they were too few and far between. Sometimes a writing style can be seemingly simplistic, and yet offer real elegance. Yet here simplistic style came across as amateurish. As for narration, the reader too frequently lost track of his characters' voices, leaving the reader confused as to which character was speaking. One of the main characters was Jones, an old man. His voice was particularly grating, as it came across as a caricature of a feeble, elderly man. In summary, it's not a terrible book, but neither is it particularly rewarding or insightful. Three stars.

Lessons for Life

Based on a true story, the lessons learned from this book can change your life and especially your perspective. This should be assigned reading to everyone over 14 years old. A book that has become and will always be a classic full of rich life lessons. Read it, then buy a copy and give it to someone you know that could use a dose of new perspective.

This should be encouraged reading for all ages!

I love sharing this with friends and the younger generation! Love the sequel! I Read this about every 6 months and listen to it often on long trips!

towards the end when Jones took him to meet the boy that was now living under the bridge in the same hole as he did so many years ago!

Which scene was your favorite?

The married couple that were going through a divorce and how he gave them perspective and explained to them how they each still loved each other but they showed love in a different way than what they needed...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Good message, nice story

This isn't my favorite Andy Andrews book and it doesn't hold a candle to The Travelers Gift but it was well put together with a good message.

Andrews always does a great job mixing his message in with a well put together story but I honestly think his real life story about Jones and what it did for him would have been better than this book.

The Noticer is worth listening to but if you can only read one Andy Andrews book do yourself a favor and pick up The Travelers Gift. In my opinion that is one of the best books ever written.

Noticing

Mr. Andrews unfolds this wonderful lesson in an easy format. Learn from someone else's mistakes and you won't need to make them all yourself. I've listened to this 3 or 4 times - maybe I'm noticing things a little more. Wonderful!

wonderful little book

The nuggets this book holds should be revisited often. wonderfully read by the author. This was my second listen to the book but not my last I am sure. A new perspective is what we all need.

A good performance of a tired formulaic story.

I was recommended this book by someone I respect. It’s nothing but the usual tired old self help yadda yadda yadda.

Absolutely Brilliant!

I have never listened to fiction on Audible (I tend to listen to non-fiction) and rarely finish any Audible book. But this book grabs you from the beginning. It is narrated by the author who does all the character voices which is just brilliant. But the story itself is really life-changing (and I don't say that lightly). I found myself thinking about the "parable" lessons and the characters long after I finished, so much so, I have now also finished the follow-up book The Noticer Returns.
I can see myself re-listening to this at least every 6 months because each time you listen other lessons come through, which you just didn't hear the first time round.
I actually had the physical version for more than 5 years and never opened it. But I am sure this is best in the audible version.
I have already recommended this book and the author to so many people!

Life changing!

What a read! Andy Andrews has the greatest storyteller's voice, but the story itself is on a whole other level of great!
