Publisher's Summary

Reality is sometimes not what it appears to be.

Dr. Albert Snowden just wanted to be there for his niece, Emily, after the loss of her father. Being abducted by aliens, and then rescued by a mysterious being known as Evaran, has made that difficult. Despite their situation, they try to make the best of it while traveling through space, time, and beyond with Evaran and V, Evaran's trusty mobile artificial intelligence. With the use of Evaran's time-traveling ship, the Torvatta, they will try to maintain timeline integrity while dealing with the challenges that brings.

This box set contains the first three books in the Evaran Chronicles. If you like science fiction, time travel, technology, and adventure with a space opera bent, then this series is for you.

Great collection of stories!

Take 3 amazing novels about a singular and unique protagonist and this is what you get. I already had the 3 books but couldn't resist getting the collection. Love being able to listen all in one long set. Highly recommend the set. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Spellbinding story

This is one of the best stories I have heard in a long time! I listened to the pre book and was hooked. you want to keep listening to see what happens next!
I am fascinated by time travel and alternate universes and this has hooked me on this story and I cannot wait for more to be on Audible.
Michael Pauley does a fantastic job handling all the different voices that I would think it is a crew of people doing it. The sound effect are great and I cannot say I have heard another audio book that was better! I will look for other books by him!

This trilogy is really entertaining

I discovered Adair Hart via a Bookbub email. I no longer purchase books because the premise sounds interesting. It must have a minimum of 4.2 stars and sound interesting, Audible is expensive!
That said...
A wonderful time travel story, in the Jules Verne tradition. Not a whole bunch of hokie crap. Straight forward, clear and unlike many other books, every word added to the story. It's not a fast read/listen, you must pay attention but you will be, OH SO ENTERTAINED!

A mix of Dr Who, Aliens and the Matrix

** This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. **

For fans of Dr Who, aliens, time travel, and other sci fi classics the story is a nice blend of each. It may stream a bit heavy into the realm of time travel but it does end up serving as a necessary part of the story and worth making sure you pay attention to the details. We start off with Dr Snowden and his niece Emily being awoken from their own personal version of the Matrix after being rescued by a time traveling alien that had already been living among people of Earth for some time. They find themselves in the near future on an alien spacecraft that is failing and about to crash. This sets off a chain of events not only affecting the future of earth itself but the aliens that started this whole mess.

As the added bonus of getting all 3 books for a single credit in which to review them is a huge plus. I had a bit of an issue getting into the narrator at first mainly due to the speed of his speech. While I tend to listen to books a bit faster than normal speed to make it sound more fluid sometimes parts sounded a bit off, although he did have a fairly good range for different characters which did help.

And I would like to give a personal thanks to the Author for following up as well to ensure I was able to get a review copy of the audible versions.

The music needs to go!

How the heck do you turn off the music, or at least turn it down. It’s distracting.

Awesome narrator saves this series.

I really enjoyed the Prequel to this three book set, so I used one credit to purchase this set. I enjoyed Book One, and liked Book Two, but by the time I got to the third book the weaknesses in plot and writing overwhelmed. I have a feeling if I had been reading a print version, rather than audio, these lacks would have been more noticeable earlier. The narrator does a FANTASTIC job, especially with separating species and humans, male and female. The narration is spot on.
Sadly, the author could have used a tough editor to point out repetitive phrases ... every characters smirks, half smiles, half grins, and smirks again, repeatedly! The coy, juvenile giggling about the (mild) sexual relationship of the niece, every-single-breakfast-scene, became irritatingly sophmoric.
The prequel, Books 1-3, are a bit of a Dr Who knock-off, but I didn't mind that. Overall, it flows like episodes in a stock space opera, one I was glad to tune into. I'm not sure why Book Three irritated me so, but I simply could not stand it, and I skipped whole chapters at a time. I might re-listen to the Prequil, and Books 1 and 2, but not, definitely not, Book 3.

Good Sci-Fi Trilogy

I want to thank the author for providing me with a review copy of this audiobook. This is an excellent value in that it is 3 books for just 1 credit. This is a very good time travel book that I really enjoyed. Good characters, and fun battle/adventure story. While it is the predictable go get the macguffin and save everyone stories, it is well done and the journey is worth it. Others have said that it is a rip off of Dr Who, which I guess is a fair comment, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a good trilogy and worth the read. I also wanted to mention that there is a main character who is a lesbian in this book, but that is not particularly important to the story. There is no coming out moment, no disapproving family/friends. She is gay and everyone around her knows and nobody cares. So many stories with gay characters have their sexuality be the character's most defining characteristic. Kind of refreshing to see that not be the focus of the story.

Absolutely loved it!

I really liked this book. The writing was fantastic and it kept moving at a great pace. I spent so much time listening (even when I should have been doing something else) that I lost track of time. This is a great series from a great author. I liked it so much I have bought all the rest of the books and have started listening over again.

Entertaining time travel collection

At first glance, a mysterious alien allowing a couple of humans to accompany him on his time machine through a series of crazy adventures sounds rather like Doctor Who, but a lot of the interactions throughout these books serves to put some distance between them and that iconic series.

While the titular hero, Evaran, shares a number of traits with the Doctor, he also tends to indulge in actual violence more often when the situation requires it and throughout the book there is more use of time travel mechanics to deal with an issue e.g. going back a few years so that the people you met had time to discuss something and reach a decision in time for them to be of help. The companions of Evaran are Dr Snowden and his niece Emily and throughout these books they both developed as characters far more than Evaran who remained the mysterious super alien throughout.

The narrator of this book nicely enhanced the stories, giving a strong performance for all the main characters, ensuring they were all sufficiently distinctive.

Overall, these were an enjoyable set of books and I would be interested in reading more of their adventures in the future.

What a fantastic collection!

I was provided with a free copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.

As with some of the other audiobooks I've had recently, this was written by an author I haven't read or listened to before. The ideas and writing are very well done and I was hooked into the characters and the story in minutes rather than hours.

As this is a three book collection I don't want to give away information that will spoil the experience for those who intend to buy this book. The characters are all sympathetic and you can relate to them easily, the action is often non stop and so rapid you have to pay attention carefully.

The first book is a lot shorter than the other two in the collection, it is almost as if the author testing the characters first before writing a note complex and time consuming adventure.

However, just because it is shorter does not mean that it lacks in quality or in depth. The main thing it does is make you want to listen to the next instalment immediately to find out what happens next.

The technology aspects can be baffling, the acronyms used can make you wonder what the author is talking about, but it doesn't make any difference to the story, and you do get an explanation of the technology at the beginning of the second and third books. Also, if you're anything like me, it only makes you more curious to find out what they are and what they do.

I loved this collection, the narrator was brilliant, making each of the different species you listen to have their own distinctive style and tone and Evaran himself is done in a very skilful manner.

I'm looking for the next book in the series as soon as I finish this review. It will be my next purchase.

Doctor who?

Evaran travels through space and time correcting faults in the timelines. Joined by the professor and Emily this audiobook collects their first 3 adventures together for a binge worthy listen.

Michael Pauley handles the voices of all the characters met throughout the universe very well.

An epic immersive Sci Fi series!

I cannot say enough good things about this book series.
It is based on a premise of time travel ship that is controlled by a mysterious alien being whose origins are unknown.
The main characters are wonderful and by the end of the 3 books they feel like they are family and you know them as they grow so much throughout the series.
The range of story arcs is fantastic with some mystery style arcs and plenty of action arcs.

The narration is really good with all characters having distinct voices. There is some cross over for background characters but after 3 books that is bound to happen a little bit. There is no confusion when listening as to who is speaking.

I love the intricacies of the alien cultures and species interplay which gives an added depth to the whole series. All of which is supported by the performance Michael Pauley brings alive Adair Hart's immersive and well written world.
