Publisher's Summary

From Hugo Award finalist David VanDyke and million-selling science-fiction legend B. V. Larson comes book two in the epic military space opera adventure saga!

Commodore Straker's rebellion grows in strength - but his enemies are growing even faster. Faced with a dozen rebel planets in their territory, the Mutuality finally takes notice of the upstart known as the Liberator, and they gather a vast fleet to crush him.

Preparing for a titanic interstellar battle, it's clear Straker has no chance. His tiny enclave of free planets can't survive the weight of a thousand worlds. His own officers realize this, and some of them begin to turn against him....

In a desperate attempt to halt their inevitable destruction, Straker and his team set out to capture the largest ship ever built. The monstrous vessel is well-defended and contains secrets no one suspects. Unleashing its power might turn the tide of the war - but it may also doom humanity.

Battleship Indomitable is the second book in the Galactic Liberation series. The series starts with book one, Starship Liberator.

Almost a masterpiece!

Lacking nothing and delivering on so many levels, Mark Boyett absolutely KILLS the performance leaving this as one of my favourite all time instalments in any space sci-fi series. On par or better than any of BV's work except for maybe the beginning of Star Force. If you like this genre, its a must listen!

Space Military dramas can be one dimesional

Sequels can be rough but the author is less predictable than most and launches you through a revolution in one installment and is down right introspective for the genre as the characters evolve.

Larson never looses his golden touch

Character and story depth and development. imperfect people and friends.
And sci-fi space battles allies with character other than evil killers.
And great NARRATOR.
keep writing I'll keep buying.

Excellent follow up story

Once again B.V. Larson, Mark Boyer and David VanDyke have raised the bar. Tremendous story and performance.
Spoiler alert:
The cliffhanger makes you want the next book immediately.
Well done!

Overall Excellent Story

Overall a wonderful story, however there were multiple points where I felt as if a story was going to flesh out a certain aspect that the author went so far to be so specific about details only to have that portion feel as though it was just deleted from the story, an example was Loco going off to do his thing after the big blow up along with the actions of the concubine. They just disappeared on a mission, showed back up, had a word or two, and conflict over. The story isn't lacking by any means so perhaps things were removed to make the story shorter and permit for expansion on other areas, it just felt like portions are missing. There were a few times that this made the story feel disorganized, or perhaps rather less interesting to follow as each time a new twist was presented I began wondering if this will even be relevant.

With all that said, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and series and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi story that is close enough to the ordinary to make it easy to follow, understand and appreciate but is different from your run of the mill mainstream story lines.

Much better than the first book

Storey moves at a good pace, lots of new and interesting things happening, fun battles and perfect queue up for book 3. I’m already!

Disappointing

As usual B V Larson writes a compelling first book, only to have the following books fall flat. As the second book in the series Battleship Indomitable starts to have gaping plot holes and characters without clear motivations preforming acts who’s only purpose seems to be to drive the plot forward. It’s annoyingly obvious when the organic flow of the book is interrupted by a character who gets “high jacked” by the author and does something that makes no sense in the context of the story. If Larson could control this and allow the story to unfold naturally he would be “indomitable” as an author.

Good Action

Loved this second book as much as the first. However, the interactions with Indie went on far too long and really became boring; so much so, I fast forwarded in a couple of sections; so only 4 stars for this.

That said, narration was good, as always, and I will certainly buy the next book in the series.
