Publisher's Summary

Abby Davis isn't wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she's busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn't looking for fun - he's a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions and fallen brothers. Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt has been sidelined by a combat injury, and he is haunted by the loss of his best friend and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL - focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he's always wanted: a family. Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

Contains mature themes.

Critic Reviews

"This debut mixes passion and compassion in a contemporary story that has emotional depth. Readers will find the story heartwarming but with enough heat to remind them of what falling in love feels like." ( Library Journal)

A fabulous ride for the emotions!

I loved this book. I had never read/listened to a Claudia Connor book before. I belive I picked this one up as an Audible Daily Deal. I'm SO glad I did! The story takes you all over the emotional map, but ends with my favorite happy ever after. Johanna Parker is also new to my, but I thoroughly enjoyed her narration. Will be looking for more from these two talented ladies!

Heartwarming and Emotional

I got this book during a recent sale so I wasn't expecting a whole lot from it. I was proven wrong! I would have definitely used a credit for this one.

I don't need to tell you the plot of this story (that's what the publisher's summary is for) but I will say that this book has all the elements of a great romance. Engaging story, check! Strong, yet vulnerable characters, check! Emotional, check! Heartwarming, check! Hunky, Sensitive, Smart, Navy Seal (lol), check! It's the kind of story that you don't want to end. 💖

The narration was outstanding. She totally nailed all the voices...especially the children. She really brought this book to life.

Note: This book does have some strong language and sex scenes.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good heartwarming romance.

This is how a woman should be loved

I appreciated that this book had a depth of story and not just scene after scene of mindless sex. While still hot, the author managed to make this story meaningful and touching in a way that is missing from most of the "Fifty Shades of Trendy" books.

WORTH THE FALL WAS SO WORTH THE CREDIT

This is a romance that shouldn't have worked.... a handsome, bodylicious 34 yr old Navy SEAL and a pregnant widowed mother of four..... but together they made it work. Through their initial holiday attraction and flirtation, their separations, her insecurities, his missions and the broken promises yet somehow these two people connected, overcame, found love and became a beautiful family of six.... then seven.

Worth a credit? A good start to this new series with loveable characters (especially the children), a great story with a little angst and a heartwarming HEA easily made this an enjoyable, romantic and creditworthy listen.

Clingy, weak and desperate protagonist

The only redeeming quality about this book was the narrator. The heroine was awful. Recently widowed and pregnant with her fifth child, I was appalled how easily and quickly she let another man in her and her children's life so quickly. Not to mention she let him sleep under the same roof as her children after she had unprotected sex with him. I should have stop there but I continued with the torture of this story hoping she got some sense, but it never came. So glad it is over.

Started out great!

But then it got monotonous . Still enjoyed most of it and cried at the end. Needy women drive me crazy.

Not worth a credit

It's pretty rare that a book is so bad that I don't even want to finish it. This story is incredibly unrealistic and overly dramatic. The female lead is supposed to be this strong woman but as soon as she gets the guy she turns in to a weak cowering twit. Could it be that she had a rough childhood in which everyone abandoned her? And also a shitty husband who managed to knock her up five times but was never there for her? Of course she did. Could it be that Matt her knight in shining armor is a hero Navy seal who just wants to rescue her and her five children! Of course he is. I actually laughed out loud several times at how ridiculous the story is. I've read some pretty bad romance novels in my time but this might top the list.
