ive been bamboozled

i kept seeing this book on tiktok and everyone had good things to say about it, but like i was disappointed yall. the plot sounded good, but the writing didnt meet my expectations. i guess i just dont like her writing style. HEA for sure. like unrealistic, disney type happy ending. just not my taste.

HOWEVER, the narrators were fantastic!!! they even narrate the talking parts in the others pov chapters. so if the girl is narrating pippa, but jamie talks, jamies narrator will talk. its the first time ive listened to a book that does that!

This was my second read through of this book. The duet narration was perfect, and I love the narrators that were chosen. The story is one of my favorites of the year. Goalies really don't get as much love in hockey romance, and I love that Jamie is a goalie.

Pippa and Jamie really bring out the best in each other. Jamie with his unwavering support of Pippa, he definitely proves he is her number one fan. Pippa helps Jamie realize it's time to focus on what he wants and needs.

And of course Daisy steals the show.

DNF...

Duet narration was a plus, but the story was long, drawn out, & pretty uneventful. Too boring 😴, tried to finish on several occasions.

Swoon Worthy

Love love love the narration. Dual POV and the Canadian accents are just enough to feel authentic but not cheesy!
The actual story, well we already know it’s a winner. Stephanie Archer is a one-click must buy for me! So sweet, so steamy. Absolutely adore how mental health and family dynamics were explored. Jamie and Pippa are so sweet, discovering their own worth and finding the joy in each other.

This is how you do a slow burn!

Ughhhhh so good! I wish that I could read it again for the first time!!
