So what if he's a bit older and usually regards a human female as dinner, not a dinner date? Yes, Roman Draganesti is a vampire, but a vampire who lost one of his fangs sinking his teeth into something he shouldn't have. Now he has one night to find a dentist before his natural healing abilities close the wound, leaving him a lopsided eater for all eternity. Things aren't going well for Shanna Whelan either... After witnessing a gruesome murder by the Russian mafia, she's next on their hit list. And her career as a dentist appears to be on a downward spiral because she's afraid of blood.
The first book in a bold new fantasy romance series by New York Times best-selling author Kerrelyn Sparks. Luciana grew up on the Isle of Moon, hidden away because of her magical powers. But when her father arrives, he offers her a choice: remain on the island or return with him and marry the Beast of Benwick in order to save their legacy - and her father's life.
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Then a drool-worthy man shows up at her door claiming that he accidentally bit Marty. And since he's a werewolf, she is now, too. Thinking Keegan Flaherty is clearly insane, Marty refuses to believe a word until a kidnapping makes her realize there's more at stake than just her highlights.

Nothing on earth can make this vampire fall in love....
After 499 years of existence, Connor Buchanan has arrived at an inescapable conclusion: he is a cold-hearted SOB. He's been watching his friends - those poor romantic fools - plummet off the cliff into love like a dazed herd of sheep. But not Connor. He knows that love leads to nothing but heartache.
Until Marielle....
She is an angel cast down from heaven for disobedience. Trapped in mortal form, she finds a protector in Connor, a Scottish vampire haunted by a dark past. Marielle hopes to heal his broken heart and earn her way back home, but suddenly she has these... feelings. This strange yet pleasant physical yearning - for a vampire! Is this the work of a demon luring her into hell, or has this angel found heavenly bliss?
It was delicious! It left me feeling great! The book was awesomely written. Thank you Ms. Sparks. The narration by Ms. Zackman was awesome too! Her use of her voice was well done.

i just don't think romance was up to par and i wish there was more sexual intensity.

Hmm Grouchy Scottish vampire and a virgin sort-of fallen angel.. It sounds really really corny but it works. Some laugh-outloud moments as well as touching scenes, the kind Kerrelyn-sensei seems to be good at doing. I have read the series on and off and I seem to have missed reading several books The 2 books I've recently read were fun enough that I will go back and pick up those books.

I found this to be a decent paranormal romance novel. Just be forewarned its about 75% romance, 5% action, and 20% related to the paranormal setting and characters. There is room for sequels if the author decides to do so.

still cant get namenrights and the accents are odd other then that great book and well written.
What did you love best about Vampire Mine?
What I loved about this book is the innocence's of the Angel and how she had to learn about being a human from those around her. It was funny to hear how everyone was trying to impress her and put their best foot forward, while the Angel didn't judge anyone and thought everyone was wonderful for who they are.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Vampire Mine?
When Marielle got into the closet with Conner, and the conversation that took place there.
What about Gabra Zackman’s performance did you like?
I think she did a good job at being the narrator for this book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, however real life takes away from audio book time :(
Any additional comments?
I love this series and how each book is about one of the main characters explaining more about them and their past.
Would you listen to Vampire Mine again? Why?
Liked the story even though the reader was... Lest put it this was she made Kerrelyn Sparkes kind of bland.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Wrong narrator for this type of story.
Would you be willing to try another one of Gabra Zackman’s performances?
I have heard her many times, but this was the totally wrong book for her.
Any additional comments?
The narration made it impossible for me to finish listening. I love this series, but skip this one!
Would you consider the audio edition of Vampire Mine to be better than the print version?
No but I would change the narrator
What was one of the most memorable moments of Vampire Mine?
When the ladies explain to the 'angel the three steps rule, lol
What about Gabra Zackman’s performance did you like?
Ok
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The 3 steps rule
Any additional comments?
Love the whole series but I really dislike the fact that it change narrator on almost every book which give preview character different voice I hate it
Would you try another book from Kerrelyn Sparks and/or Gabra Zackman?
I love Kerrelyn Sparks but Gabra Zackman..... never again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
In the ebook version I love Connor and Marielle.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Gabra Zackman?
Coleen Marlo or Donna Rawlins would work well or..... my favorite narrator is Robert Petkoff
Did Vampire Mine inspire you to do anything?
At the end of the book I cried (both versions)
Any additional comments?
Gabra Zackman has a boring voice and it was hard to focus on the story when she spoke. I was disappointed with this narrator.
Written more for a youth market than adult. I found it irritating and in the end I gave up!
Connor has been around since the first book in this series - watching all of his friends and colleagues fall in love, so it was definitely his turn. This story was a step away from the usual vampire/human/shifter love story but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
good story a little different from the others but enjoyable. What was not was the voice of Gabra Zackman if you can get past her dreadful monotonous voice its a good listen !
I love the books by kerrelyn sparks and the vampires are bring to life by her words in the books
Fine for the teenage vamp/shifter fans out there. Nice story but lacking that substance from other better known authors of the genre
