Publisher's Summary

To touch a Dark One is death. To talk to an immortal is suicide. Yet, I've been marked by both.

A Vampire. And the King of the immortals. My life is no longer my own. And now I know the truth, my life was never mine to begin with. It was theirs.

It's always been theirs.

Contains mature themes.

Wow. Just, wow.

Ok, first I have to say that I do not like "vampire romances". I have read one or two and they were just annoying. This one, however, I really enjoyed. It is not a typical "vampire romance". The story line was amazing and the narrators were fabulous. I couldn't stop listening. I had to know how it would end. So, when it ended at 3 am, I immediately bought the next book in the series. Again, just amazing. Wow. I would highly recommend this book.

Interesting paranormal story

Arc angles, immortals, humans all mixed into one saga. I was on the fence about this book but the more I listen to it the better it got. many different good characters to choose from as your favorite. The way the story ended gives you a good preview on which characters saga will unfolded. I did enjoy listening to it. The narrator was good especially in giving each characters their unique voices. I would recommend the book.

Wow. Just wow!

I was always passing this book because I thought I wouldn’t like the female and male narrator combo, but I’m oh so glad I did. Best. Credit. Ever. Spent! They did an AMAZING job, although I did get a little lost on which character (minus Simon) that the male narrator would do. They all sounded the same a little. It’s simply a great book that I truly enjoyed and the author did an amazing job at creating this world and characters. I was hooked and had to finish, just to listen to one more chapter, that I finished in a day. You get invested in it and their lives. I’m so getting book 2. Loved!

Unusual and entertaining

This one had interesting, unusual, exotic plotting and relatable characters … not excessively sex-driven; this one is worth a listen.

Okay story, bad performance

The narrators’ performances were stilted, awkward, and cumbersome. Their enunciation, “voices,” and wooden intonation took away from the story, which was okay, but clumsy and a bit disconnected. Wouldn’t recommend, and will be avoiding these narrators.

I'M STILL CONFUSED AS TO WHAT'S GOING ON IN THIS BOOK
I MEAN COME ON LOOK AT THE DESCRIPTION IT DOESN'T REALLY TELL YOU ANYTHING I GOT IT CUZ OF THE OTHER REVIEWS AND I'M GLAD THAT IT WAS INCLUDED IN MY ROMANCE PACKAGE BECAUSE IF I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY CLOSE TO $20 😑 I'M NOT GOING TO LIE I WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY UPSET 🤯
IT'S LIKE A 9-10 HR BAD JOKE I KNOW I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE FEELING THIS WAY .. SMH

Meh...

I wanted to like this book but honestly the performance was not great. The narrator can make or break an audiobook.

Intriguing book

I am a huge RVD fan, but wasn’t sure I would enjoy a paranormal book. I shouldn’t have been worried with It being by RVD. In this new world, we get to meet the Immortals and watch as Genesis, a mere human, is brought into their world. I think this book more sets up some of the ones to come as you start to get to know the characters, but still pulled me in and made me what to know what was going to happen.

Alternating narrator distracting!

The female narrator handled different characters very well. The male narrator was distracting and made it difficult to distinguish one character the other.
