Tarnished Beginnings

Egypt is a haven for magic-wielders of all kinds. Vampires hold court, staying one step ahead of the priests who want them dead. Gypsy caravans roam the Nile, plying their wares.

Tairin Jabari was born in a caravan and has always believed she's Romani. Why wouldn't she? Her mother and father never suggested otherwise. The Rom have harsh rules. When Tairin's first shift catches her unaware at 13, her father disappears, and the elders move with deadly speed to punish her mother for mating outside the blood.

Hurt, lost, confused, and fearing for her own life, Tairin runs away, leaving her mother's smoking funeral pyre behind. With her survival on the line every single day, she and her wolf face hard choices.

Tarnished Legacy

Half Romani, Tairin's no stranger to hiding her mixed blood from gypsy caravans. What she can't hide is her perpetual youth, courtesy of her shifter heritage. She's overstayed her welcome where she is, but Germany is at war, and travel has become impossible for everyone targeted by the Reich.

Elliott's clairvoyance is strong. Seer for all the caravans in Germany, he catches Tairin eavesdropping outside their leader's wagon. He should turn her in, but he can't bring himself to do that. Instead, he interrogates her. Her magic is different, but he can't figure out quite what she is.

Any association between Romani and shifters is forbidden. Tairin should leave right now, tonight - before he discovers what she is and destroys her.

Great Listen

In 1740, Egypt is a haven for magic-wielders of all kinds. Vampires hold court, staying one step ahead of the priests who want them dead. Gypsy caravans roam the Nile, plying their wares. Tairin Jabari was born in a caravan and has always believed she's Romani. Why wouldn't she? Her mother and father never suggested otherwise. But there is something different about her. When her secret is discovered, her mother’s punishment is death and Tairin is on the run.

In Tarnished Legacy,

Fast forward 200 years and we find Tairin traveling with the Romani again, but keeping her Shifter side a secret. She, with a sympathetic Mage are stirring up as much trouble as possible in the Nazi strongholds. Then the Vampires are discovered, forcing the Romani and Shifters to work together to eradicate the nest of Vampires.

Since I don’t do spoilers, I’ll just say these stories are action packed, and kept me turning pages until the very end. Speaking of endings it warmed the cockles of my heart. There is violence and sizzling sex so +18. I highly recommend Tarnished Legacy audiobook. I can’t wait to get my ears on Soul Dance Book 3, Tarnished Prophecy. Yep,it's on my Christmas list!

The narrator, Gregory Salinas breathes life into Ann’s captivating characters and vivid descriptions. Bravo!

and more Gypsies and more good hot and heavy sex so I guess you may be entertained only of course if your not a Puritan.

Not a bad read with a Narrator who knows how to read pretty pretty well.

Go Download and turn on the AC ...... its gonna get hot inside.

Vampires, Gypsies, and Shifters... oh my!

Wow! What a great start to a series. You get both the prequel and Book 1 of this series with this audio. I was very grateful for the prequel because it really set the stage for all of the magical creatures involved. You got to see the history of Tairin and I was just heartbroken for the 13 year old. Book 1 Introduces you to the Shifters and gypsies who are stuck in Germany during the Nazi regime and their battle against evil even as they war amongst themselves. I highly recommend this listen!

Great

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. First off the narrator was great nd really made the story come alive. Second I enjoyed the prequel as much as I did the main story probably better. Loved how Tarin figured out how to keep herself from danger. I wish she could have helped the little boy. Glad the robbers only got clothes. The story was filled with action, suspense and dedication. The wolf did all she could to teach Tarin what her father neglected to do. Loved that they were part of the resistance to the Nazis evil. Ok enough spoilers. The book was worth the listen. Waiting on the next in the series.

Great Story!!

I must let you know that this audiobook has a great surprise as it also includes the first book in this great series! Especially since Book 1 is not available in audiobook form. I loved this exciting story as it includes shifter magic, evil vampires, fighting against Hitler’s Nazis, Romani history, and forbidden love. There’s lots of action and adventure that will keep you mesmerized—wanting to find out what happens next. The narrator, Gregory Salinas, does a great job in bringing this story to life. Decent book

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, this was book 2 of a series, but book 1 doesn't seem to be available on Audible... that, in itself, is really odd. Because of this, I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to get into the story or wouldn't know what was going on. Turns out, it wasn't a big deal. This book seemed to stand on its own just fine. Now, for the story itself, it was pretty good. Has a good amount of paranormal content, though there is a lot of sex. Not a big deal really, but figured I'd point that out for those made uncomfortable by lots of sex in a book. Anyway, the sex and relationship stuff was not all the book was about. So, I was able to enjoy it. All in all, I think it was well narrated and entertaining.
