I enjoyed listening to the book. Miles had loved Violet for 3 years, even though Violet broke up with Miles he still loves her. Violet was attacked twice by the same man, Miles saves her both times.

    "True love wins all"

In this audiobook we have two main stories. The on-off love story of Violet and Miles and a kidnapping. So of course there will be two villains instead of one this time.
I especially loved the way young Zoe had her own little protector. Very cute. And it just goes to show that true love wins all.
The stories are clever, easy to listen to, interesting and well written. Scott Michael has an unusual voice and does justice to this audiobook.
So, kudu's to both Barbara Goss and Scott Michael
The audiobook version was provided by the author at no cost and this is my honest and unbiased review.my honest and unbiased review.

Another great book in the series.
Reconnect with some old favourites and Miles & Violet have a chance at a HEA, but not without a little heartbreak.
Narrator did a great job in sharing the story.

    "Great read"
    Any additional comments?

Shadow of Hope was another great read by Barbara Goss. Violet is set to marry Miles, but after meeting Gavin she isn't sure of her love for Miles. After breaking off her engagement to Miles things start going wrong. I can't wait to read more by Barbara Goss.

    "Another Good Story"

I got this book via audiobook boom. This book is a stand-alone but is also a part of a series. This author knows how to complete a story yet give the reader the knowledge that there are more books to be read. Violet and Miles have been secondary characters in all of the other books but this is their story. The book address issues that women and em faced during that time. Attempted rape is one of those issues. It is done in a way that shows how God can heal even the most broken person. The narrator seemed to strain on some of the voices which is not the usual style of these books. It is still a beautiful book and well developed. Some parts seemed rushed but they did not take away from the overall story.

"A sweet story of loss and second chances"

Violet Jeffries breaks off her engagement with Miles Croft for another man who has caught her eye. But is it really love that she feels or is something else at work here? How will her life change when she gets close to the man who has enamored her?

Miles Croft has loved Violet with all his heart and after she breaks his heart, he vows to never lose it again for a woman. His trust has been broken, but will he risk again when he sees that the very woman who has broken his heart now needs him more than ever?

Barbara Goss continues The Shadow Series in this fourth book. She does a great job of both connecting her other books and yet making it a stand-alone for those who have not read previous books. This is the first book that I have heard Scott Michael narrate and I hope to listen to more! He does a great job of telling the story and giving life to the characters.

Note: This book was given to me and I have voluntarily given this honest review.

    Story
    "Violet's Story and more!"

I will confess that in the previous Shadow books, Miles was not my favorite character and because of that I didn't really care for Violet because she decided to court him. As I read more of about Miles and Violet in this book I find my opinion of them has changed for the better.

Miles and Violet were engaged, but after some time apart, Violet decided that maybe marrying Miles isn't what she wants out of life. Both Miles and Violet grow and learn more about themselves during their time apart. Violet has to decide if the grass is really greener on the other side and Miles must decide if risking another broken heart is worth loving each other again.

I also enjoyed the continuing story of Zoe, Jonas and Ivy from book 1 in the series. Zoe is getting old enough to question her parentage and why she looks different from Jonas and Ivy. Zoe's friend Alphie has a sick aunt who may not life much longer. Where will Alphie go when she dies?. Jonas and Ivy handle every situation with love, forgiveness and by looking to God for answers.

Goss touched on some tough subjects in this book like race and forgiveness of a would-be-rapist. Biblical advice and scripture is woven into the responses given without sounding judgmental or being over powering to the clean romance story.

Very enjoyable story. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series!

    Story
"Not as good as Shadow of second Chance"

I liked it to begin with but when the book progress I found that I did not like the characters as much as I thought I did. I also did not believe in Gavins problem. If he did have a problem like this then he would have had a bit more of a past.
Violet I did not like at all. I found her to be selfish and naive. I did not believe in her love in Miles. When she broke up with him she did not feel anything! If she truly loved him but was confused she should have felt some, like, uncertainty, at least. As for miles, well he just gave up! What kind of love is that! If he truly loved her he would have kept trying to win her over, but he just gave up.
As you can see this is not my favourite book, but I did like Shadow of second chance where we meet some of the characters from this book.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
