Yet she keeps getting shelved - most recently by her fiancé, who happens to be the DA. And she'll get over it, really. No problem. She'll just have a nice, short encounter with a mysterious Italian named Antonio who may or may not be involved with some kind of alleged criminal activity.
Jonathan Drazen is a known womanizer and a gorgeous piece of man I'm not letting into my heart. Ever. Yeah, he's rich, beautiful, charming as hell, and he has a wit as sharp as a double-edged razor... but he's made it perfectly clear that this is a short-term f--k. Three nights, tops, then we part like sexually satisfied grown-ups. I believe him when he says he can't love me. I'm not trying to fall in love, either. We get in. Get it on. Get the hell out. Done. Right? Right.
I never forgot her. Not for one minute. Not from the last time I saw her, at 17, to today. I measured all women against her, and all women came up short. But being with her was unfeasible in high school, and it's taboo now. I see her sometimes, but I've never spoken to her. She runs, or I run. We're in the same town, on the same block, in the same building, and the gulf between us has been just too wide to cross. Until tonight.
Catherine Barrington is a rich girl. Chris Cartwright is a poor boy. He left her to make something of himself. A man she could be proud of. A man she could bring home to her parents. A man she could marry. On the trading floor he became the man he knew he could be. Now, it’s time to return.
Keaton Bridge is 100 percent bad boy. Cassie doesn't need a boy and certainly not a bad one. She fights crime for a living, and everything about this guy screams trouble, from his charming British accent to his mysterious past. And Cassie doesn't do trouble. Keaton's trying to go legit, and an FBI agent hanging around is the last thing that will help his credibility. All it took was one night of passion to sear her into his skin. Now he can't imagine living happily ever after without her. All they have to do is walk away. But neither of them ever walks away from a challenge....
Thirty days. That's all Adam Steinbeck demands of his wife. Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands. After that, he'll sign her divorce papers and give her their company. That's how long he has to rediscover the man he once was. The dominant master he hid when he fell in love with her five years before.

An Irish mobster. A missing friend. Two loyalties, ripping me apart. I had a plan. Get in, get my information, and get out. Easy, right? Turns out, infiltrating the Irish mafia isn't exactly what I thought it would be. I just wanted a soldier. Someone I could flirt with to get me in the door. That's when Lachlan Crow noticed me. Problem was, he wasn't a soldier. No, he was next in line for the throne of the Irish underworld. And he was determined to hate me from the outset.
Everything about Fiona is forbidden. She's a party girl with dark desires. She's beautiful, irresponsible, and irresistible. She's my patient. I'm her therapist. I'm past wanting her. Past possessing her. Past bedding her or protecting her. I'm willing to be self-destructive, negligent, brave, audacious, and stronger than I ever believed possible. She's blunt force trauma to the heart. And she calls another man Master.
I owe him a debt. A big one. The payment can't be settled with money or favors. He only wants one thing. Me. Every action gets a reward. A button. Once I fill his jar with 365 buttons, he'll let me go. He'll let me walk away. But I have to earn every single one. By submitting to the darkest, cruelest, and most beautiful man I've ever known.
Hollywood bad boy Brad Sinclair always gets his way, whether it's the role he wants or the bikini-clad model he has to have. But when a bombshell gets dropped in his lap in the form of a dimpled five-year-old from a forgotten relationship, he knows his life is about to change forever. Cara DuMont isn't exactly thrilled when she gets assigned to be the nanny for the latest box-office king. She has one rule: no celebrity fathers, especially single ones with devilish good looks and rock-hard abs.
New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed.

I do what I want and who I want. I don't follow anyone's rules-even my own. I knew I shouldn't touch her, but it didn't stop me. Didn't stop me the second time either. Only made me want a third. My lifestyle suits the savage I am, and she doesn't. But Temperance Ransom is my newest addiction, and I'm nowhere near ready to quit her yet. I'll have her my way, even if it means dragging her into the darkness. Hopefully it doesn't kill us both.
I don't like to be touched. I'm the hacker-geek-goddess of the FBI. When I'm hiding behind my screen, I'm a safe distance from everyone; isolated, powerful. No man has ever touched me, but when I'm captured by Colombian drug lord Andrés Moreno, I no longer have the right to refuse. He's scarred and scary, and his cruel brother Cristian has tasked him with breaking me. I try to fight, but I can't escape his strong arms and harsh discipline. He demands that I accept his touch, and my virgin body can't help but respond to his masterful manipulations.
Once upon a time, I was an 18-year-old psychology student. Now, I'm a man's property. Stolen and sold, I've been decorated in bruises since the day my world changed two years ago. I suffer in silence, I crave freedom, but I never break. I can't. Until he arrives. Elder Prest, the only man to look at me and see me. The only man more ruthless than my owner. He wants me for reasons I don't understand. He claims me for one night then leaves and never looks back. Until he returns. And life becomes much more complicated.
When I met Donovan Kincaid, I knew he was rich. I didn't know he was filthy. Truth be told, I was only trying to get his best friend to notice me. I knew poor scholarship girls like me didn't stand a chance against guys like Weston King and Donovan Kincaid, but I was in love with his world, their world, of parties and sex and power. I knew what I wanted - I knew who I wanted - until one night, their world tried to bite me back and Donovan saved me. He saved me, and then Weston finally noticed me, and I finally learned what it was to be in their world.
Joseph Ingram made the mistake of stealing from me - four million dollars. He took my intelligence without paying for it. And thought he could get away with it. Now I'll take something from him - something irreplaceable. His sister. Collateral. But even when Joseph doubles the amount of money he owes me, I don't give her up. Nope. I have an image to maintain. So I keep her. And I'm not giving her up.
The thrilling follow-up to the best-selling Mafia romance.
Antonio is a killer. He's beautiful and educated, a prodigy of a thief, and as violent a badass as ever came off the boat from Napoli. Theresa knows it, but that doesn't stop her from getting emotionally and physically entangled with him, and this is how she gets it in her head that she can protect him. But it's not her job to save him, and she's just not getting that. Every time she tries to protect him, she practically gets him killed, and the tighter he grips her, the more dangerous she becomes. It's almost as if protecting her the way he does is the one thing he should stop. As if the only way he's ever going to find a moment's peace is to just embrace her as a partner rather than a defenseless creature. But he'd never do that. Not this violent badass.
WARNING: This book contains delicious sex scenes with a hot man dirty talking in Italian; women handling firearms and explosives; and scenes of violence with a crystal Virgin Mary cigarette lighter.
I didn't understand Theresa for most of this book. In the first book she starts out attracted but not really interested because she is still in love with her x who cheated on her and she isn't over him. Eventually her sexual attraction lets her explore her sexual interest in Antonio and suddenly she is in love with him. She is so prim she can't stand and won't use cuss words. She thinks Antonio does t give himself enough credit. Next thing you know she is calling him filth and garbage and telling him to hurt her using foul language left and right. Falling in love with someone doesn't turn you into the opposite of what and who you are. It's very irritating and made me dislike this portion of the story.

For some reason when my mind listened to this it wasn't as easy to understand what was going on. I often felt dumb, like wait, what?

More nerve-racking and action-packed drama as Antonio and Theresa's worlds continue to collide and spin out of control. But they're holding on tight to one another and will destroy anyone who threatens or stands in their way of them being together forever..... but unfortunately the tension and danger is rising and amplifying because, as much as they want to stay together, external and internal enemies are sharpening their blades, loading their weapons and making plans.
I just couldn't stop listening as the plot continues to crank up the suspense and danger - as well as Antonio and Theresa's deep love and passion for each other.... which results in some pretty hot sex scenes.
This time the story was dual POV and Brian Pallino's sexy and smooth Italian accent gave it authenticity and made this a bellissimo listen as he seamlessly flipped from American, female and Italian accents with ease. Mindy Kennedy did a great job too.
Worth a credit? For just one credit I got so much in return...... an exciting, unpredictable and emotional plot with action-packed drama, angst, steamy sex scenes and a very romantic and passionate love story. So YES, I'm one happy listener.

This book was unreal! I enjoyed every thrilling second. CD Reiss knows how to keep you on the edge and Mindy Kennedy did another stellar job of narrating, totally bringing Theresa and Antonio to life. These two gave the term RUIN a new meaning, and it was EPIC. 5 delicious stars for an amazing and intriguing, romantic journey! Highly recommended and credit worthy.

What made the experience of listening to Ruin the most enjoyable?
Brian Patillo as Antonio Spinelli! His authentic Italian accent offered a deeper appreciation of Antonio's character. Mindy did a phenomenal job as Antonio as well!
What did you like best about this story?
As a reader, I loved the growth between the Capo and his Contessa. Their relationship evolved so much in this second installment. I absolutely love and agree a gazillion percent of Theresa submitting to her Capo!
What does Brian Pallino and Mindy Kennedy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The duo definitely bought the book to life! I felt as if I rushed through the book because I wanted to know what happened. With the audio I could savor the relationship between the Capo and his Contessa. I experienced every wonder and experience with them as it happened. Brian and Mindy's chemistry...no words! It's beyond phenomenal!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely not! Like fine wine this story is meant to be savored and consumed leisurely.
Any additional comments?
I cannot wait until book 3 is on audio! I absolutely adore this series and the narrators!

First of all; I could listen to Brian Pallino speak in an Italian accent all night long. Oh goodness he gave me the vapors. LOL.
I like the story fine; however, Reiss’s writing style keeps throwing me off. She just gets too enthusiastic with her metaphoric descriptions, to the point it takes away from the story and makes me zone out. Less is more to me.
The story is good and I am curious to see what happens next, but I think I am going to hold off, and listen to some other books for a while first. Overall; it’s a steamy, thrilling read, and if you can get around the writing or don’t mind that type of writing, it will be right up your alley....Sara

Wow what a ride am so loving this series can't wait for the next instalment. Great storyline and amazing characters would highly recommend it
Would you consider the audio edition of Ruin to be better than the print version?
Yes....!
Have you listened to any of Brian Pallino and Mindy Kennedy ’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No I hadn't listened to these narrators before and they both were excellent and part of the reason why I continued with the series. CD Reiss chooses great narrators.
I was somewhat relieved that the males voice wasn't Sab Yolks...and I also liked the accent that Brian have to CAPO.
