Publisher's Summary

A high-octane thrill ride from USA Today best seller C. D. Reiss.

Theresa Drazen wants to know one thing: Is there something wrong with her? Because from what she can see, she has money, brains, and a body that does the job. Yet she keeps getting shelved - most recently by her fiancé, who happens to be the DA.

And she'll get over it, really. No problem. She'll just have a nice, short encounter with a mysterious Italian named Antonio who may or may not be involved with some kind of alleged criminal activity...blah, blah....

Let's call a spade a spade: He's a mobster.

Let's face a few more facts. He's hot. He's smart. And if anyone breathes on her the wrong way, he's got no problem beating their head against a Porsche until they're willing to lick up their own vomit to make it stop.

Just about everything about that turns her on.

Yeah. There's something wrong with her.

Mature audiences. Rough sex. Dirty talk. Criminal activity. Cursing. Fisticuffs. Closed course. Professional driver. Do not try this at home.

O - M - G!!!!!!

This book was in-frickin-credible! Hot, suspenseful, erotic, hilarious, you name it, this book had it all in spades. Already of fan of CD Reiss, SPIN took things to another level for me. I am chomping at the bit to dig into book two--RUIN! I give this one a well deserved 5-stars across the board. Fantastic!

DING DING DING..... THIS LISTEN HIT ALL MY BUTTONS

Little did recently dumped Theresa know that her life was going to irrevocably change when she looked into the gorgeous eyes of the most handsome man she'd ever seen and when he touched her it was electrifying. Antonio knows he should stay away from the too good for him redheaded beauty but something invisible was pulling them together so he thought "maybe for one night" but, as soon as he was inside her, he knew it would never be enough. However, as her sexy images took him over and haunted his mind, he feared that his way of life was probably.... and eventually, going to destroy hers.

Unfortunately their lives couldn't have been more different and they both constantly struggled with their consciences as Antonio reluctantly led the all too willing Theresa into the murky Mafia world of danger, deaths, threats, bloodshed and suspense. Neither fit into the other's world but somehow they were determined to fight with whomever (and even each other) in order to stay together..... but rival families, mounting internal unease, a loan shark, a jealous remorseful bitter ex who happens to be the D.A. and Theresa's concerned family all had something to say about their affair and were a constant threat to their happiness.

Theresa would follow Antonio anywhere and that's the way I feel about this trilogy.... I knew it was going to be good but I just didn't realize just how good. I didn't start this trilogy until I happily had all three books lined up and it's going to be an indulgent yummy weekend as I too am plunged into Antonio's violent roller-coaster world. A world where this dirty talking, drool-worthy, sexually demanding, Italian Stallion is torn apart by a feisty redhead who brings out his kind, considerate, thoughtful, romantic and caring side as well as his frustrated, confused and tormented side..... but the cost of staying together will be high..... very very high.

Worth a credit? Ohhhh this was such an enjoyable listen with a plot that had suspense and twists, a likeable H/H, lots if h h hot sex scenes and a delicious stormy love story that's only just revving up and was narrated really well. Told from Theresa's POV. YES, an action-packed very creditworthy listen.

A barely okay story. Decent Narration.

Well this was just an okay story. It was entertaining in some parts and some parts were just not.

The chemistry between Theresa and Antonio seemed to be forced. The romance seemed forced. These two main characters didn't know a thing about each other except they liked having sex together. That about sums it up to be honest.

This is my first mafia book and probably my last.
The story line and plot was just meh.. Nothing exciting or fantastic, not a page turner. To be honest I was glad when it was over.

As for the narration. It was pretty decent. Mindy Kennedy did try to give everyone their own voice, She read with some emotion and she does have a nice reading voice. So I would listen to her again.

I got this as a free read with my KU subscription and the audible was 1.99. It's a good thing I didn't pay any more than that.

Grrr, only part of the story.

Okay, I will never rate a partial story more than 3 stars. Why give full stars for only part of the story? Usually I avoid these chopped up books, but got this one based on reviews. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Initial attraction morphed into love too quickly, I never really felt the connection. I won't be buying the next in the series, but if Kindle offers it up for free, I'll read it.

SPIN

What made the experience of listening to Spin the most enjoyable?

CD Reiss is my new favorite author! Her books are so passionate yet tasteful. The passion between Antonio and Theresa made the listen most enjoyable- it was almost palpable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Spin?

I loved that Theresa got to shock Daniel with the fact that she was sleeping with a mobster after he completely humiliated her the way that he did.

Which character – as performed by Mindy Kennedy – was your favorite?

I actually love Mindy's performance of Antonio. If I didn't know better, I would swear it was a man! She made Antonio sound even more sultry than Brian did.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Let's just say that my husband enjoyed the extreme reaction I had to this book :)

Any additional comments?

You might as well go ahead and purchase this book, as well as Ruin and Rule. They are all fantastic and you won't want to put them down.

Some positives but overall the story was silly

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, overall the story line isn't credible and doesn't have enough interest to pull me into the next in the series.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not this series.

Was Spin worth the listening time?

Isn't this the same question as the first one?

I wouldn't reccomend this one...

Any additional comments?

Her narration was obnoxious so much so that I would get annoyed and zone out and realized I'd missed sections at a time. The story line was weak and expected. I didn't even finish the book. It is a classic bodice ripping romance story but with a rough mobster instead. I'm glad I got it on sale.

Both MC's are a bit silly-but still a sexy read

Any additional comments?

The heroine is insecure and confused a lot. The hero is even more confused and often I was too. I couldn't figure out what Antonio wanted? There are so many little twists and turns that I couldn't focus on the relationship between the main characters. Other than the sex...that was really well written and very hot.
But this is another case of our hero being hard to like, and sometimes that works. But this guy is kind of an asshole, and wants to have it all. As my old friend use to say, he wants Joan Cleaver in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom.

Spin cycle would be more interesting

I did not enjoy this book. The MCs are unworthy of the 7hrs spent listening. You cannot like them, they are trite and shallow; there is nothing to make you become invested in the story in any way. This is no action, just dialogue.

At 2.36, when she drives away having made up her mind that consorting with this mafioso is stupid, is when anything sensible in this story ends. The sex is dull and predictable, there is no real passion. The story lacks fundamental descriptions to spark the imagination to allow you to see the characterisations or events.

Mindy Kennedy's narration is the only cohesive force keeping this story listenable. If I wasn't on lockdown, I would've given up on it altogether after hour 1.

Amazing!

This book had me gripped right from the start. Mindy Kennedy was perfect as the main character, Theresa Drazen. I was already addicted to this world after listening to The Submission Series by CD Reiss. Her writing is absolutely incredible. This series follows on from there and I couldn’t stop listening to it. CD Reiss is now one of my top five authors. I couldn’t download book two quickly enough!
