Publisher's summary

Sometimes it's good to be bad....

When it comes to sex, good girl Skyler Thompson always plays it safe, choosing stable and sedate over wild and thrilling. She doesn't do one-night-stands, but one look at sinfully sexy Gage Holt and she's willing to reconsider. He makes her want to be bad for once in her life, and she's prepared to take what she wants.

Danger follows former MMA fighter Gage Holt like a shadow. Despite his successes as part owner of Sin, an exclusive nightclub in Boston, Gage can't risk getting involved with a woman, especially one as sweet as Skyler. Still, he can't resist a taste - and it's so damn good he has to see her again.

As addicted as he is to her, Gage knows there's no future for him and Skyler - not with his past lurking in the dark corners of an MMA cage. But Skyler's tougher than she looks, and she's ready to fight for her man.

Superb narration

Joe Arden does a fantastic job with the hero’s Boston accent - it sounds effortless and real when accents can often times come off as fake and annoying. It added depth to the already excellent story.

Opposites attract romance. 3POV. HEA. Standalone.

This is a short, opposites attract (mma fighter and psychology student) “hot damn” novel. The narration is good. I gave the story only four stars bc the story was a little predictable and ending anti climatic.

Short, sweet and to the point

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! Not only was it a quick, fun book, Joe Arden is my all-time favorite male narrator. His Boston accent (to my admittedly untrained ear) was actually pretty fun. The story itself moved quickly, enough heat and heart to keep you interested.

What did you like best about this story?

The heroine was young but kind of sassy. The male was tall, dark and brooding with a marshmallow center. Just a pleasurable listen, didn't drag on. I wished it was another couple of hours longer actually!

Which character – as performed by Joe Arden – was your favorite?

ALL OF THEM. :-)

Any additional comments?

Super fun, kind of wish it was more of a sale price but sweet enough I'm going to get the second and third installments. Love Joe Arden, the story was cute, and I could have listened to it all in one sitting if I had had the time.

Fantastic story!

I really enjoyed this story about Gage and Skylar and I could not stop listening until I finished it. Gage is a bad boy with a tough exterior and Skylar is sweet and somewhat innocent. They find something in each other that they didn't intend on. This really packs a punch in a short time. The narrator, Joe Arden, was amazing. His Southie Boston accent was on point!

I Liked It!

A short story, yet well developed plot. The writer did a great job in developing the story, as well as the characters, which incidentally were played by the one and only all accomplished narrator, Joe Arden, who excellent performance extended to the variation of Boston accents

Straight to the sizzle

“You’re a good girl Skylar.”
“Not tonight.”
It’s hard to buy the summary saying Skylar always played things safe when the story opens with her aggressively throwing herself at Gage after little more than eyeing each other across the club.

“You really have no idea how to use air quotes, babe!”
But, at novella length, it’s all about lightspeed connections and just enough story to sell the sex and HEA.
I didn’t need Skylar to drag her feet being shy, so her willingness to grab life (and Gage) by the balls was sexy and fun.

“This woman unleashed his carnal caveman.”
Gage was deliciously rough around the edges. Thanks to narrator Arden, I even liked his Boston accent, something that normally harshes my marshmallow something fierce in romance.

“There is nothing casual about googly eyes,”
Okay, yes, their connection is mostly sex. And, there’s a fairly high ratio of sex to story. But also, there’s a sweet story about Gage trying to rise above his circumstances, and I totally bought him falling googly eyes hard for Skylar.
