Amazing

LJ Shen never disappoints. I have to admit I was a little distracted when I started but once I got through the 1st chapter I couldn’t stop. The narrators some if the best and among my favorites. The relationship of Mal and Rory was one a decade in the making all from a one night stand, a promise, misunderstanding and love. Great story to listen to “In The Unlikely Event” you need something to do.

I have loved every single one of LJ Shen's books. This story is such a wonderous and beautiful story. The narrators brought it to life with amazing precision of each word and chapter. Redemption and forgiveness. True love and fate. Loved every moment of this book ❤️

I'm at a loss for words. This is by far my favorite book by this author. Must read!!! Buy now!!!

Kept Me Engaged

...for the most part. Although this is part of the audible series, some parts went just a bit too far. The overall story was engaging. Almost like a happily ever-after after all the bad stuff.

Loved It

Not my favorite author, but I chose the book because I love the narrators, and I am so glad I did. This one hooked me so hard that I was up until 4 a.m. listening. Mal’s character really spoke to me.

BEST ever!!

Joe Arden and Shane East do a marvelous job of narrating this story. L.J. Shen has created an addict in me for the angsty love story.

The side notes from other characters like Summer, Kathleen, Glen and ahem, the chocolate bar, the humor after that scene was marvelous. Apologies that I cannot remember all the narrators names, they did marvelously.

Fair warning for those sensitive to open door sex scenes, this book will NOT be for you, so save us and the author your negative reviews about it and don't read the book.

L.J. Shen approaches those scenes and incorporates them as being just as essential as the consuming love the characters have for each other overall, to the point where I forget they were even there, by the end of the book, it is just part of the whole.

Thank you again for a great story, humor and love through all the imperfections or because of them.

In the Unlikely Event was filled with so much love, angst, secrets and destiny for so many characters. I cried at the end of this story just because of all the emotions that it pulled from me.

Great story, full of passion and every day normalcy. Also love the narrators' performances, in particular Joe Arden, and yes Savannah Peachwood, Shane East, and Muffy Newtown, who incidentally sounds like Erin Mallon. Needeless to say L.J Shen, never seems to amaze! NOTE, Muffy Newton is Erin Mallon. These characters are amazing, and hilarious to no degree ! Just want to add, how much I enjoyed Savannahs easy low melodic unharried speech. God I fukng love this book! Note, I rated this book long before 2/5/22, actually sometimes in 2020, and now editing on 10/29/22. Again, just adding more: The family dynamics are warm, regardless of the neglect and sister rivalry on Kiki's part, plus Debbie Jenkins, Rory's mom that did the unthinkable and most selfish acts in the name of love! 1/2/2925

Nice surprise

I downloaded this book during one of the audible sales not knowing anything about it and I ended up loving it.

Immense Pleasurable Never Put down Listen!!!!!!!!!

The only reason I went ahead and borrowed this book on Audible escape was the reviews. The summary sounded twisted and interesting but still thought this will be extremely stupid. This is my fist book by L.J. Shen and what a book. Now it's one of my top 10 books. It was creative, fun, hilarious, emotional hit. Its hard to figure out what to say so I'm going to do this backwards from my normal review. I'm going to start with my favorite parts.

OMG the notes! from the dead, Debbie, and the contract. They take this and skyrocket it.

Holy crap can you imagine what an inanimate object could say if they could talk. The contract on a bar napkin pisses and moans about the ketchup stain on it and that it expect to be thrown away and is surprised weeks later that its still around. The tears it wants to shed at the trash can. I couldn't help but full belly laugh with Delight and Glee waiting for him to speak again.

The others were great too, to get in-sites only they could shed about instances that occurred in their past and why they did what they did. did i enjoy them absolutely, but not as much as the contract, Although Debbie's made me hate her alot less and actually like her.

These in-sites were amazing because not only were they funny as hell, The narrators made everyone an individual even the notes and contract. The Narrators were AMAZING!! The accents were engrossing and addicting and Made me want to hear an Irish brogue rumbling in my ear.

Mal and Rori, 8 years Mal hating Rori for a perceived wrong and Rori dreaming of him until they meet again. Mal was sexy, brilliant, headstrong, and a heart of gold! Rori innocent, naive, strong, honorable, loving, and the two of them were magic. The chemistry was off the charts. It was impossible to put this book down. I had to bookmark it and put a timer on to fall asleep then pick up where it was bookmarked this morning. I just finished it damn i can;t wait to list to another by this author!!!
Is this worth a credit? ABSOLUTELY!! even though I listened to this through audible listen I will be spending the credit to own it.
