Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Elle Kennedy comes an addictive new adult series set against the backdrop of an elite prep school where the only thing more dangerous than the powerful seniors who rule without consequences are the secrets they’re keeping.

Welcome to Sandover Prep, where the delinquents roam…and you can’t trust a soul.

Finding out your mom is marrying some rich guy you’ve never met is enough to make any 18-year-old’s head spin. And for RJ Shaw, it gets worse: He’s being sent to Sandover Prep for senior year. If there’s one place a misfit hacker like RJ doesn’t belong, it’s an ivy-covered all-boys boarding school for rich delinquents. There’s no point trying to get along with anyone. That is, until he meets Sloane Tresscott in the woods on the outskirts of campus. Gorgeous and sharp-tongued, Sloane is pure temptation. Except Sloane is the one girl he’s forbidden from touching. The headmaster’s daughter.

Good thing RJ doesn’t believe in rules. Sure, Sloane insists she’s swearing off boys this year, but he wants her bad, and he’s going to win her over if it kills him—unless her ex-boyfriend, the ruling king of Sandover, kills him first. Luckily, RJ’s unwittingly made some friends. His new stepbrother Fenn, a pretty boy with a self-destructive streak. Lawson, self-proclaimed agent of chaos. And Silas, the All-American good guy who can’t actually be as nice as he seems.

If RJ wants to survive prep school and win Sloane’s heart, he’ll need to find the secrets hidden in the walls of Sandover.

Misfit Prep

Elle Kennedy has for sure left me intrigued with what will happen next at Sandover Prep. I enjoyed all the build up for the side characters as well as the developing story with RJ and Sloane.

Jason, Stella and Nelson did a great job narrating.

Really good!

This was good! I am a fan of Elle Kennedy’s writing so when this book landed on my doorstep, I could not wait to read it. I liked the multiple points of view used to tell this story and I liked most of the characters but I felt like RJ, Sloane, and Fenn were the ones that shined which worked perfectly since they seemed to be at the center of the action most often. The story follows a group of boys that attend a private all-boys prep school called Sandover Prep. We also meet the headmaster’s daughters who are hard to resist.

I enjoyed watching RJ and Fenn, who have recently become stepbrothers, start to bond. RJ had a lot of work to do to start fitting into the school, and I love that he took his own path which wasn’t always easy. I thought that the romance portion of the story was very well done and I appreciated the fact that there was even a bit of mystery worked into the story. I listened to the audiobook and thought that each of the narrators did a great job of bringing this story to life. I loved the fact that each of the different perspectives used a different narrator. I cannot wait to read more of this series!

I received a review copy of this book from Bloom Books.

Intrigued

This was a book that kept me invested the entire time. I will continue reading this series. However I think it was a mistake not using different narrators for each different characters chapter. If I wasn’t paying attention to the name at the beginning of the chapter I was entirely lost.

This is more closer to YA than I was expecting. But it was still really good. I love Lawson and can’t wait till he gets a book.

Terrible male narrators!

I loved the book but my God the male narrators were awful! RJ’s voice sounded slow and creepy like the guy who narrates Forensic Files. If I had the time like I used too I would have just read the book but I like to listen to them when I work. They are supposed to be high school seniors not middle age sounding men.

Super Story, Superb Narration!

Both the story and the narration was fantastic! This book is everything I love about the author’s style and the multi pov narration (especially this group of actors) sucks you right into the story. Couldn’t stop listening and can’t wait for book 2!!!

Love the book and the audiobook did not disappoint

The first time I read this book I was sucked in instantly and couldn’t put it down. Upon finishing it, I immediately purchased the audiobook and was not disappointed!

One of the things I enjoyed the most are the multiple POVs. Since this is a series and there is a healthy undertones of mystery/suspense, I think hearing the first person voices of multiple characters really helps to add depth to the story. I’ve read quite a few reviews that don’t like the points of view, but I thought it worked in this book!

As for the narration, it is very well done. Silas and Lawson are my favorite personally, just because of their tones.

All in all, I would 100% recommend!

Meh

I’m a big fan, but this isn’t up to her other work. There are so many character voices, so there isn’t much room for individual development. No one gets to be fully fleshed out, and some of the behavior is super gross, so it’s hard to care what happens to them.

So good

Honestly I can’t really tell you what I loved so much about this book. I just did. I don’t give a 5⭐️ lightly. It was such an easy read and hooked me. I loved the main characters. Can’t wait to listen to the next.
