Really Love These Books!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is very addictive reading! Once you've read one, you'll be clamoring to read the next. But be forewarned, these aren't your regular run of the mill romances. These books are darkly emotional and explicitly sexual.

Like all of the other books in this series, several storylines are developed. We get introduced to a new Lesser, Mr. D, and follow him as he does the work of The Omega in a most surprising way. We also learn more about Rehvenge, a preview of his story in book 7. Newly transitioned John Matthew and his buddies are also followed. I'm very invested in this storyline. I really liked following the story of these guys from their pre-trans stage to post-trans. And I'm so looking forward to their stories as they become warriors and also fall in love.

I have noticed that some people have been disappointed with the love story between Phury and Cormia. I have to disagree. The romance between them was satisfying. The book may not have spent as much time on them as the other pairings were in previous books, but their romance develops slowly, romantically. Their story is just as emotionally charged as the others. By the end of the book, you are aching for them to get together.

A note to those who are thinking of starting this series in the middle: To really appreciate this series, I recommend starting from the beginning and reading the books in order. (Dark Lover, Lover Eternal, Lover Awakened, Lover Revealed, Lover Unbound, Lover Enshrined, Lover Avenged) My personal favorites are Lover Eternal and Lover Awakened, but all of them are great.

I love JR Ward

I have loved the Blackdagger Brotherhood since the 1st time I read Dark Lover the first book in the series. This is the 6th book in the series and I've never been a huge fan of Phury however this is a must read (or listen) because of all the important information about other characters in the series. These books are very well written and are not a typical romance! They have an amazing storyline and I have enjoyed being able to listen to them. I hope Audible will make book #5 available soon and book 1# is being made right now so I hope they include that as well!

Great Title

Awsome book by an awsome Author. This audiobook is actually 6th in the Series, the first being Dark Lover also available in Audible. This series follows the lives of the Black Dagger Brotherhood which is a group of vampires that protects the vampire race. Different world of vampires but awsome to break the Anne Rice view.

Story was good

The recording and editing was poor. Lots of chop jobs and edits that were voiced different and inserted without care for the sounds. Also the pronunciation for words in the series changed so after listening to the first couple books in the series suddenly words changed.

Great story

I loved Z's story. I like that he and Phury continue in this book. The story of the brotherhood in this series is just as good as the romance.

Not my Favorite but good Reader

Phury's book is not my favorite. but none the less it is well written, descriptive, and the narrator is great, I can't say enough about Jim Frangione's narration.

Second Time is a Charm

When I first read this Black Dagger Brotherhood book a few years back, I did not like it nearly as much as the others. Recently, I decided to LISTEN to it and BOY am I glad I did. The complexity of Phury's struggle, the number of events that transpire to evolve in future BDB books, Jim Frangione's excellent narration and feel for the brothers, the dramatic change in the whole Chosen system and the ultimate battle between good and evil are at their best in this book. I was not wild about Cormia (the female focus) but that's a small price to pay for such a rich and complex tale. No sense in going into great detail...it's a fabulous listen.

That ending though

I was so frustrated with this story... or with the characters rather but that ending had me taking an early break at work so I could have a little cry in the car. Excellent job. Excellent transition book from normal existence to the storm everyone knew was coming.

Love this Series

This is an addictive series. You get hooked very quickly and you don’t want to put this series down. Need to start and do this series in order. In this book we learn how one of the brothers deals with his addiction and how he learns the true meaning of love. Another character faces his past of sexual abuse. Several characters learn more about themselves. Plenty of action & suspense with twists and surprises and ???romance. Not the best book in the series but needed for character/storyline development. Enjoy narrator but in this book it seemed like another narrator dubbed in (seemed like another voice) for a sentence or two every now and then.

Fury is Infuriating

I love this series and this book has lots of pivotal information so you must read it. The problem Is Fury, I understand he is battling drugs and guilt but the strong man is the previous books is portrayed so whiny and woe is me. I was dreading when a section about Fury came up.
