Publisher's summary

Dr. Shelly Monroe is a woman who doesn't shy away from going after what she wants, but lately good sex has been hard to find. Shelly's become increasingly frustrated with the men she's been dating and the men she believes are the right choice.Joshua Daniels is certainly not even close to the right choice. In fact, he is exactly the wrong choice. For one thing, he's Mason Langley's best friend and best man. Second, he's too much of a risky complication for Shelly to even consider.

Then why can't she stop thinking about how delicious he looked that first night she met him at Exquisite? Why is it so imperative to keep her lusty desire for a man that doesn't meet her preconceived mold hidden from Lena and Mason, her trusted friends? It seems unreasonable that being with a man completely wrong in theory could somehow feel so right. Then why is it the more she sees him the more enticing he becomes?

It was a great story

It was kinda slow in parts but overall I enjoyed the story. It could have had better sex scenes for my taste but that's just me

However again.

Any additional comments?

The author that wrote this series, loves the word "however". The story is good. There is some less "however" than was in Exquisite. It bothered me, it may not bother others.

AN ENTICING CONTEMPORARY LOVE STORY

In this second instalment from the Exquisite series we meet most of the characters from book 1 and a new arrival - Mason's best friend Josh who has come to work for him and be his Best Man. Handsome, sexy and drool-worthy Josh was fed up with the usual type of beautiful man-eaters that he normally goes for and has got a wounded heart to show for it and he secretly longs for what Mason's got with Lena.... a deep undying love for someone and a HEA ending.

As soon as he sets eyes on Lena's friend Shelly he knows he has to stay clear of her because she falls right into the man-eater category but fate, and their sizzling chemistry, had other ideas. Shelly is also getting over a wounded heart and is determined to stay clear of gorgeous men that looked, walked and talked like Josh but the more her mind kept saying "no, don't go there, he's trouble" the more her libido would say "hell yes, what's the harm" and "he's hot so why not" and so, in the end, her libido won - after all what's the harm in a no strings casual but very hot fling right? X wrong. However, patient Josh goes along with their deal but eventually he wants more.... a beautiful new future for them both but if he can't break down Shelly's long erected defences then he'll have to go it alone but he doesn't want to give up trying..... until, in the end, he's left with no other choice.

The well-written storyline flows along nicely with witty banter, sensual sexual chemistry, passion, steamy sex scenes, some wonderful romantic and sexy dialogue, genuine intense emotions and passionate heartbreaking pleas makes this an awesome and sweet listen. It also brings up-to-date news of familiar well loved characters like Mason and Lena and adds new ones ready for book 3.

Worth a credit? Well they both said "never again" but I'm grateful that the talented Author changed their minds and they took the risk just one more time to give us this emotional, touching and very entertaining listen. A perfect hero dripping in sex-appeal, a flawed couple that are perfect for each other and a perfect love story makes this a perfect way to use a credit.

Entice

Loved this sexy story. The last few chapters of waiting could have been a bit less, but overall that didn't detract from the story. Josh and Shelly's love story is one so many people can relate to. Loving in fear. Their emotions were raw and real, and the narrator did a great job of bringing that to life. Moving on to Edible....

💕💕💕💕💕

THIS. This book was so enjoyable to me. I really love their love story. And this book beat the first one because it gave me the chance to forgive Mason, who I was still pissed at at the end of the first book. Even though that ended happily, I was so annoyed by his attitude of anger at Lena during their breakup and her having to be the one to ask for “forgiveness” (ridiculous) that it left me wanting for that good feeling. He redeemed himself in this book, which made it doubly good.

I liked it, I hated it, skipped the last third

The narration was good and that was one reason to stick with the story through the many dull patches.

The theme is two independent professionals have an unquenchable attraction, each recognizing their soul mate in the other. Then, for the next several hours of narration they both behave stupidly, acting childishly and creating unnecessary (and unbelievable) drama. It was tiresome.

******* careful, plot spoiler ahead

A female doctor carrying emotional baggage from her childhood is unable to commit, but when she finally comes around to admitting what she wants her chosen man rejects her advances. He behaves like a teenager whose heartthrob was seen kissing another behind the school. He abandons his thriving construction business to the hands of his employees (a “boss’s prerogative”) and disappears for half a year…right, that’s credible! Our heroine, a busy, successful professional woman, accepts this behaviour as well as his blaming her for the failure of their relationship. She, the highly capable medical professional, simply waits for her man to return from wherever his funk has taken him. She emails him daily with potentially career ending photographs of herself just to keep him interested.

Really, the only adults in the story were the suitors that the doctor rejected for being too boring. Read that as: "incapable of reducing this high functioning woman into a blithering idiot with just a smouldering glance".

Enticingly Exquisite This Story is Not!

Expected better character development. Oh well. Not certain if this is worthy of a credit. Fairly predictable but enjoyed strength of Joshua. Shelley was a drip and not appealing. Too many descriptions of her eyes, her hair, her...blah, blah. Drama queen with daddy issues. Yawn. Steam-scenes were sadly, the highlights. Narrator sounded bored too. The follow-up to Exquisite -- Entice is not.
