The Elite

Mateo Morgan
Call Sign: Solo

Reckless, arrogant, and bold, Solo is as known in the US Navy for his bad-boy reputation as he is for his skills as a fighter pilot. It’s a surprise to his peers, then, when he’s chosen to train and compete at the most prestigious naval aviation academy in the world.

Mission Rules:
1. Kick everyone’s ass.
2. Do whatever it takes to win.
3. Do your best to distract the competition.
4. Especially when that competition is a gorgeous blue-eyed perfectionist who makes your blood run hot.

Grant Hughes
Call Sign: Panther

Disciplined, smart, and confident, Panther can’t afford not to play by the rules. As the son of a top Navy commander, all eyes are on him, and being anything less than number one is unacceptable.

Mission Rules:
1. Keep it safe in the air.
2. Prove you’re more than Commander Hughes’s son.
3. No distractions. Stay focused.
4. Don’t fall for your competition - especially not the rebellious heartbreaker with lips made for sinning.

In the heat of the hot California sun, tempers flare and desires ignite as Solo and Panther try to resist their attraction while fighting to be number one.

With passion this intense, the question remains: Who’s gonna come out on top?

Danger Zone

OMG! I was not ready for that last 5 minutes! This book is Hot and Fast. This MM romance has 2 of the most Alpha males in it. Panther and Solo run into each other at a bar both played hard to get. The next day they realize that they will be competing against each other for the next 10 weeks in the Elite Navy fighter pilot training. Panther is more of a tough, loner Alpha and Solo is the loud, out going, jokester Alpha. Opposites really do attract. I need to start book 2 immediately. I was not ready for that cliffhanger. Aiden Snow and Christian Fox were both absolutely phenomenal!

Welcome to the Danger Zone!! Hot MM romance!

I have had this on my TBR for a long time and it was completely worth the wait. Enemies to Lovers, competition, even a little grumpy/sunshine and M/M. This is everything I love, narrated by Aiden Snow and Christian Fox. Their pairing is so perfect, I think this is my favorite Aiden Snow narration ever (until another book usurps the title of course). Panther and Solo are angsty and swoony and the tension and chemistry is palpable. This story ends on a cliffhanger and i have already started book 2

I highly recommend this book especially in Audio

Among the best narrations I've heard

I prefer audiobooks to regular books, partly because I can do other things while I listen and partly because looking at a kindle screen hurts my eyes after a while. But I don't think anyone would deny that there are some narrators who detract from the quality of the experience. I bought this audiobook based on my experience with Christian Fox. I tend to listen to m/m books, and he was half the fantastic narration team of The Understatement of the Year by Sarina Bowen. But I've never heard anything else by him because as far as I can tell he hasn't narrated many other (or ANY other) m/m audiobooks. Well he and Aiden Snow both absolutely knock this one out of the park. I'm very much looking forward to the second book in the series and I hope they both narrate the third as well. Christian Fox especially nails the character of Solo, who I can totally see being irritating if he were voiced badly, since he's definitely pushy to the point of flirting with a sexual harassment lawsuit. But as voiced by Fox, he's actually my favorite character in the book.

The plot is good too. I think it pretty closely follows the plot of Top Gun if Goose and Iceman had been in love (hahahaha "if," I crack myself up). It's well written and the slow burn is a true slow burn; they don't fall in love halfway through the book and spend the rest of the time having sex. I appreciate--more than I can express--the fact that both characters are actually gay, because it would have been super easy for the authors to go with the archetypical "I'm straight but I'm attracted to this one guy" GFY trope, which has always struck me as cringe at best and borderline insulting at worst. One of the characters is even dealing with coming out, since he has a controlling and sort of homophobic father. However the book is never preachy or particularly political, so score one up to the authors for navigating successfully through the "how not to be offensive but also not get super annoyingly politically correct" minefield. I'm not even being sarcastic, it's a fantastic tightrope act they pull off beautifully.

So, five stars across the board. OH, and if you're expecting a standalone, you'll be disappointed, the book ends on a huge cliffhanger that makes the "Tune in next week..." endings to old timey serials seem like satisfying closure.

Go.. run.. listen to it now!

This is the first Air Force book that I have listened to and I’m kinda bummed I didn’t take notice sooner.

I can get over how amazing these narrators are. They are the best!!

Story is also very good. I kinda wish they would have put all there together because they are too short to be separate story’s.

Enjoyed this story, but it ends on a cliffhanger

This is part 1 of a 3 part story- it ends on a serious cliffhanger. Like- SERIOUS cliffhanger that you absolutely will not be able to walk away from the series after listening. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The antagonism and cockiness that these two elite flyers show throughout this first book is handled well. The authors blend soul deep flawed personalities with raised external walls. The two characters are so unique and drastically different from each other. The story unfolds in an interesting way, and there is actually a great background story (it’s not just a romance story, but an action packed adventure!). Aiden Snow takes the buttoned up, rule-bound, ice cold (on the outside) Panther to a new level. Although Christian Fox does a good job, I didn’t feel that he continually portrayed Solo’s grandiose personality as well as he could have. I would not think Solo to have a level and calm voice, and Christian Fox is a solid level narrator.

OH MY, BRINGING THE HEAT!

I must start off by saying the narration was OUTSTANDING AND OH SO SEXY! Now, on to the story. Solo, was one determined and sexy as all get out kind of man. He wanted Panther at first sight. He went after what he wanted. I can't blame him in the least. For Panther was totally his kind of guy, SEXY. They both had the love for flying. They were both the baddest of the bad. And they did their thing while flying in the air. Solo was going to make sure they continue bringing the heat, while being on land. I'm pleased to say he got his wish. For that partnering was steamy, sexy, sweet, and constantly on repeat. I so highly recommend their story. ENJOY!

Perfect!

Holy hotness! I still remember being obsessed with Top Gun when I was a kid. Well, this book took me on a trip down memory lane with Solo and Panther. The authors did an amazing job creating these characters and their friends. I can't wait to dive into the next book!

Truly Enjoyable

Solo and Panther have amazing chemistry that Christian and Aiden (respectively) bring to life. This enemies-to-lovers is a MUST LISTEN for anyone who really, really loves MM.
