Mouthwateringly Declicious & Fascinating

Really interesting immersion into the great food and culture -- and history -- of Harlem. Great music and recipes, Marcus Samuelson is the real deal. Authentic and revealing and a wonderful guide. The program is loaded with colorful and fascinating people from the arts, culture & politics worlds. I even followed the recipe for the ribs Marcus made for Pres. Obama. A fantastic 4th of July treat!

Interesting and personal take on Harlem

Who knew that in addition to being a world class chef Marcus Samuelson is also a talented story teller? In Our Harlem, Samuelson interviews people from all parts of Harlem, and paints a vivid mosaic picture of this uniquely important town within a town. In scope are The Great Migration, culture, music and the church, and of course, cooking and cocktails. All in all this was a really interesting series of Harlem stories.

Amazing

As a foodie/blogger, and NYC resident, I absolutely loved listening to this immersive series. From the sweet sounds of frying garlic and rosemary to eavesdropping on conversations with journalists and community leaders talking about the history and culture of Harlem, this series made me hungry for more.

I also appreciate that there been some effort to create a more multi modal experience with the recipes made available on the audible website. Very excited to see where this goes.
