If you can get through the first half it’s quite good.

It is unfortunate that this story starts off, so terribly, with child abuse, contemplated suicide, and a very negative world view. But if you can get through all the negativity and bad stuff that happens at the beginning, the story really takes off and becomes quite good by the end.

Nice find surprisingly good

This was a new series. I found it to be good. Tutorials/Transfer kind of system. OP MC with a lot of paths this could take. I am not a fan of all the point of views, but I will forsure buy the next volume.

Overall a good book

I personally really enjoyed this book at first I was alittle wary but I am very happy with my purchase. I like that the author wasn't worried about talking about sensitive topics and show the real sides of it. I highly recommend this title. Michael David Axtell did a great job with narration as well.

Struggled to get through it.

There is this whole half a book build up of abuse and all of a sudden he is a different person. It felt like it detracted from the book. Not sure I will continue with the next one. There are a LOT of side characters that we never even see. Is this a book broken apart to make more money?

Good story with a few draw backs

Ok, so before I get into the bad I’m going to say the good. The story is good, you want to root for the characters and it does make you want to know where things are heading. There is an interesting and somewhat unique magic system that has a basis in litrpg with some cultivation aspects as well as some unique aspects. The main character has a lot of room for improvement in a good way meaning while he’s powerful you can tell he’s not the biggest fish in the pond by a long shot and that makes you root for the main character to get stronger and develop/discover his unique gifs.

Ok, so now for the bad and the reason I docked one of the two stars. I know some of you are going to scoff at this review given that it is a fantasy story but the author definitely comes off at least to me as blatantly anti-religion, and more specifically anti-Christian. While I understand and have read books that feature different pantheons and religions I’ve never been bothered by it. What bothered me in this was the author basically saying there is no god and if you believe there is a god you are naive. It felt like the author was pushing his beliefs on the readers and scoffing at them if they didn’t agree. I could be wrong I don’t know the author's mind but, that’s what it felt like.

Alright, the religion part of the review is over the other part I didn’t like is the suicide and abuse in the book. I’m glad the abuse wasn’t graphically detailed but it felt a little too heavy and could definitely see it triggering people who have suffered from such abuse or driving away other readers. The suicidal aspects of the main character didn’t really fit past the beginning. As someone who suffers from depression and past suicidal thoughts the point of view of the main character at some points is scarily accurate. The problem I have with it is after he gets stronger it didn’t really contribute to the story, it just distracts from it. I think it would have been better if it has been left at the beginning and used as fuel for his determination to not go back to that way of thinking later on in the book which you do see some of but he’s still kinda trapped in that mindset which as I said distracts from the story… I said before this is a fantasy which means not everything has to be true life weight wise and if the author doesn’t lighten up or find a way to resolve this I think the character and the series will suffer for it…

Really good

Really enjoyed the audiobook, it does start a little slow but i was hooked when they start showing the MCs childhood and they showed the childhood of the mcs friend arthur and that was great backstory too, i did lose some interest when the mc meets the group because he goes from soloing to caring for the group after talking with a beautiful woman (rolls my eyes). the MC gets an op ability and he takes advantage of that but the stats screens are barely there so you don't really know how much he progresses until it's necessary for the story to show how strong he is. in the end it is an enjoyable story and would be buying the next book and 100% recommend to any fan of the genre

that's a pretty good

I recommend this to anyone it's not too bad the characters have a decent background that explains why he behaves the way he does don't care for the fate thing but he's going to break it so all power to the MC baby.

Child Abuse, Sucidal Tendencies, and Depression

If these concepts bother you, skip this book. the child abuse ends by the halfway point of the book, but the suicidal tendency and depression last through the whole book.

The writing is poor and very unbelievable. For example, our MC is told he has the highest stats of all humanity, but he almost dies numouruse times shortly after. Why would I believe any of humanity survived?

I read for escapism, and this book is just depressing!
