Publisher's summary

The explosive sequel to the international best-seller, The Faithful.

For decades, I Fidele's soulless leaders kidnapped psychic children and sharpened their gifts into weapons used to reshape humanity. Ryanne Jervis was one such child, but she learned the truth too late to stop I Fidele from implementing the first part of their plan: global destruction and the incineration of millions of innocent lives.

Now the impact winter has come, cloaking the earth in smoke, cold - and silence. Isolated on a compound in the mountains of Colorado, Ryanne is haunted by visions of the second phase of I Fidele's new world order: the round-up and brutal internment of all survivors. Seeking absolution for their part in the fall of humanity, and determined to save those who remain, Ryanne's small group of Blasphemare must turn I Fidele's most prized weapon - their own children - against them.

parts are nothing but soft porn

having the sex scenes in the story do nothing to progress the plot. no idea why they are even in the story.

YA Fiction for Us Older Folks - A Good Listen

The second installment in The Faithful takes up where the first book left off, setting out at an uneven jog before finally breaking into a full sprint to the finish line. Much of this book is dedicated to world building, laying out the mythos behind the magic and preparing for the final battle to come. A few new characters enter the fray and we get to know the original gang a little better, with all the requisite angst and drama. While the story plays a bit like Young Adult fiction, some of this content is much more on the adult side. Not that I'm complaining, just passing it along. The narrator isn't memorable, but she handles the subject matter skillfully enough, juggling a lot of characters and points of view without difficulty. I plunked down $7 (ran out of credits) for this one and I have no regrets. Be warned ... this book had its own conclusion, but it is clearly a set up for more of the tale yet to come. You may be waiting a while for the next installment.

And the next story is??

The story is compelling and feels so real. SM Freedman captured my attention from beginning to end. I felt I knew each character and cried, laughed, and held my breath with them. The battle between black and white does exist and will continue until White is victorious.

pay attention people

everyone seems so surprised that this doesn't follow the same story as the series. please note, impact winter the series is completely different from the faithful, followed with a second book of impact winter. I loved both books and I can't wait to see if there's going to be a third. The serious is great too, but again that is a separate book.

hope there is more to come of this story .

I haven't enjoyed a story as much as this one in a while. please add more to this one you can leave out the sex detail. I don't care for that to much.

Loved it

Is book 3 on the way... I am liking this group of strong people. There is just enough fantasy that this could be so real. Very interesting thoughts provoked on what would happen to us as humans.

Thought this was the 2nd book to the audio drama

This book was ok. I'm sure it would've been better but I thought it was the 2nd book to the audio drama of the same name. They both have premises where meteors hit earth with very different stories. I was already a couple of hours into it when I realized this book was not a continuation of the audio drama. I'm sure if I would have read Part 1 of this series, I would have thought this book was much better.
