Jonathan Maberry is a New York Times best-selling suspense, horror, and thriller author and comic book writer (Marvel, Dark Horse, IDW). From biological weapons of mass destruction to teenage zombie hunters, Maberry can make the unimaginable seem terrifyingly plausible, introducing us to a world populated by the undead, bad decisions, and greed. Along the way, he’s won five Bram Stoker Awards, four Melinda Awards, an Inkpot Award, a Black Quill Award, and three Scribe Awards.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, Maberry took an interest in martial arts and reading. A librarian introduced him to Ray Bradbury and Richard Matheson, who became early mentors. Before becoming a novelist, the self-described "research junkie" and self-taught journalist authored more than 1,200 articles and many nonfiction books. With true dedication to his craft, he has been known to interview scientists, go on ride-alongs with law enforcement, and consult military officials. His debut novel, Ghost Road Blues was named one of the 25 Best Horror Novels of the New Millennium and his first YA series, Rot & Ruin, was included in Booklist’s Ten Best Horror Novels for Young Adults and has recently been optioned or film. Maberry is also the editor of many anthologies including an X-Files series, Scary Out There, Aliens: Bug Hunt, Nights of the Living Dead (co-edited with zombie genre creator George A. Romero), and the upcoming New Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Other series and standalone novels include the Joe Ledger series, the Dead of Night series, the Pine Deep trilogy, Mars One, and Glimpse.

Jonathan lives in San Diego, California with his wife, Sara Jo. Along with writing, editing, and teaching, he serves as a board member of the Horror Writers Association and the president of the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers. His vampire apocalypse series, V-Wars, is now a Netflix original series starring Ian Somerhalder (Lost, Vampire Diaries).

Be aware! Once you step into this post-apocalyptic world, there’s no going back! As a huge horror fan, I know that nothing beats a classic, and zombies are, and forever will be, CLASSIC. But Maberry adds spin that makes classic zombies even paler in comparison (get it? Because they’re already dead!).

Jonathan Maberry is all but required listening for horror/thriller fans, and he brings the action better than Jackson. From his series to his short stories, he keeps you thoroughly entertained from start to finish. What else can you expect from a multiple Bram Stoker Award-winning horror genius? —Nicole, Audible editor
