Publisher's Summary

A young woman, out jogging in the woods, finds a body.

Eleanor Blackwood discovers a woman's body in the same spot in the woods where her mother was strangled eighteen years previously. But before the police can get there, the body vanishes.

Is Eleanor's disturbed mind playing tricks on her again, or has her mother's killer resurfaced? And what does the number on the dead woman's forehead signify?

Boring

you knew who the killer was very early...the writing was dry...everything about this book was completely boring

Narration was torture

It's hard to rate the actual story because the narration is just unbearable. The accents/voices for different characters, especially male, are just bad. The story is ok, drags on a bit in a somewhat predictable fashion, but do yourself a favor and read this one instead of listening if you must.

Might have liked it.

Could not hear narration of book, so wasn't able to "read" it. Don't know what the issue was.

Excellent story, fantastic narration, great ending

Really impressed by this story based close to where I live so the narration was important and what a tremendous job she did.

The story was paced correctly with twists and turns leaving you guessing.

I seldom read a book that keeps me listening acutely but this was one of those books.

Thoroughly recommended

Irritating accent.

The story line line wasn’t too bad, but i found the readers accent very irritating. That, with the fact that the main police character was less than sympathetic with the main character, who had suffered a traumatic incident in her childhood, really didn’t ring true. Couldn’t get into the story at all.

Fairly transparent and comical narration at times

The story lacked any major twists or turns and it was fairly obvious from very early one that the killer would be one of two people. The author laid it on so thick with one it had to be the other. Any suggestions of others perhaps being involved seemed like an after thought.
The narration involves very strong Cornish accents which are at times ridiculous. The police inspector’s voice made me laugh out loud because it was so silly. Narrator often forgot whose character she was playing and got the wrong one.
Fairly dull but ultimately easy listening book. Narration did no favours to the book on this one.

enjoyable

I did enjoy that book, however just a bit too obvious ending. But throughout storyline was good.
