Publisher's summary

Nerds are so hot. Especially battle-robot-building nerds.

Bel would rather die than think about the future. College apps? You’re funny. Extracurriculars? Not a chance. But when she accidentally reveals a talent for engineering at school, she’s basically forced into joining the robotics club. Even worse? All the boys ignore Bel—and Neelam, the only other girl on the team, doesn't seem to like her either.

Enter Mateo Luna, captain of the club, who recognizes Bel as a potential asset—until they start butting heads. Bel doesn’t care about Nationals, while Teo cares too much. But as the nights of after-school work grow longer and longer, Bel and Teo realize they've built more than just a combat-ready robot for the championship: They’ve made space for each other and themselves.

This sharply funny, academic-rivals-to-lovers romance explores both the challenges girls of color face in STEM and the vulnerability of first love with unfailing wit and honesty.

Nice Read For Engineers

As an engineering I related so much with the journey our characters had to take until they graduate high school.. I don't know if that's a positive or negative LOL
The story is about Bel who is a senior in high school and doesn't have any clear direction for her future, but after she accidently revealed that she is a design genius her teacher enrolls her into the Robotics club, where they are basically engineers specialized in robotics, she gets accepted after the president of the club Mateo accepts her and he tries to show her she's worth more than she see's herself
I really liked Bel and Teo as a couple but the writing style of the book was so boring I really couldn't get invested in the story .. it was a nice read.. but I didn't enjoy it much

Robotics and Romance

This is so geeky cute. I love the dynamics and the reality of the situation Bell is having. Her parents are getting a divorce and she is going to start a new school her senior year of high school. She never really fit in anywhere until she was forced to try out for robotics because her science teacher realized she had a knack for building things. At first she didn’t know what to do, but Teo a popular soccer playing, robotics star, that happens to have incredibly rich parents that basically makes him the most famous person in the school, chooses her to join the robotics team. It’s a bit scary when she doesn’t know the lingo and he is just trying to win, and they clash over and over. Until they don’t and then it seems like they can’t stay away from each other, the banter and the battle bots! It’s great!

Dnf

This was so painful to listen to. The narration was like watching a tv show for toddlers. Sage your credit, I wish I’d saved mine
