Publisher's summary

Would you betray your friends to save them?

It has been months since Lily Singer’s harrowing adventure in England, yet there has still been no word of her father or Morgan le Fay. Far from being able to relax, Lily has been kept busy doing the last thing in the world she ever imagined: dating Sebastian Blackwell.

Insanity must run in her family.

Things start to get interesting - that is, bothersome and entirely inconvenient - when former beau and FBI agent, Richard Grant, asks for help investigating a series of occult-related murders. Lily would rather decontaminate Sebastian’s mold-ridden car than open that can of worms, yet she might not have a choice. For a whisper has spread throughout the magical underworld - a rumor of creatures that will pit friend against friend and resurrect shadows from the past.

Betrayal

This episode is fairly slow moving in comparison to the prior stories until well into the book. Once the storyline speeds up, it quickly takes the reader on a very wild ride. I did not see the cliffhanger coming. I must now buy the next installment to satisfy my curiosity as to the conclusion Ms. Sherrer has written into this must read page turner. I’m truly addicted to this series.

Terrible Narrator-Difficult to continue the story

Luckily the story was pretty good- enough to listen past the narrator who was SO annoying like a preteen talking.

Great pacing!

Ms Sherrer does a great job of keeping the pace of the story moving while using narrative to fill in details without paragraphs of dull and unmoving words to add in important points. The use of so many non-wizard races, from fey to the vastly different feline and fox perspectives, brings a sense of hope that humanity can live with beings of vastly different perspectives, if only we could find more ways to communicate with respect to beings that don't overtly speak our language. Bravo!!

Outstanding!

With each new book the characters become more and more like family and friends. I’ve grown more interested in the reading of these than in tv shows. I can see these in action in my head as they are read, this would make a great animated series!

Not a TV show.

Story is starting to flag and stretch thin rather than build.
This is not a TV show so it doesn't have to keep dropping cliffhangers just for another to immediately arise.
By this point though, myself and Lilly others arrived too invested.
