This peculiar place is where I first met the cold and callous recluse living in a decaying cliffside cathedral. Jericho Van Croix is the epitome of everything I’ve been told to fear: a raven-winged harbinger who wears intrigue like a warm black cloak, an enigma that I’m determined to unravel—even if it means getting closer than I should.
One touch is forbidden. Even so much as a kiss would be my demise. But the sin on his lips burns me up like a wild flame and his growing infatuation weakens my resolve.
Giving him what he wants, though, will mean no chance for redemption or escape. What's worse is the signs I’ve followed yet failed to see all these years begin to unmask a terrifying reality: Falling may be my only saving grace.

I haven’t enjoyed a book so much in a while! So many twists and turns. Jericho is def my new book boyfriend. Burn down the world kind of love… ugh. I don’t know how this isn’t more popular. Narrators did a great job. Only wish the male narrator had more audio time. Purchasing next book now!

A powerful story of love that transcends time
I really liked this story. It is hard for me to follow multiple timelines in some books, but this story flowed effortlessly and enabled the reader to grow with the characters and experience the love that defies life itself. I really liked the characters and the unique storyline, and cannot wait to read the next one. Also the narration was superb.

Odd times of "spice"
I love the story. I even love the "spice", I just feel that after the first few spicy scenes it keeps trying to fight it's way back into the story and it just feels redundant after a bit.

Definitely listen or read
This has to be my best read of 2025. I was obsessed with this book. The story had everything I needed. Definitely 5 stars. I loved the different POVs and the different timelines. The heavens and hell and even the in between called nightshade was awesome. Reading this book made me feel the emotions of their love and their lost love. The characters were literally everything I need more. Can’t wait to read the second book. Definitely recommend this

Under-rated
This book & author doesn't get enough hype. This is my first title by Keri Lake & won't be my last! I love audio books & when the performance is there, it makes it so much better, so thank you as well to the narrators.
As for the book, absolutely loved listening to it. it's a title I could listen to again & would buy a physical copy. If they made this into a Movie or Series, I would watch. Keeps your attention, never boring or stale. I love how they flash back to the past & reference the future as well. I will say I loved Lucetina(sp) and the Barron's story more. It was more moving & captivating vs Farren's more modern, ordinary life. The spice was good & balances the dynamics. Looking forward to the next book!
